Accokeek, MD (October 28, 2011)  Sergeant Glenn Eller’s 2011 shooting season did not start off quite as he would have hoped, especially with the loss of his Beretta shotgun, but as the season has progressed he has emerged as the Glenn Eller of old.  The 2008 Men’s Double Trap Olympic gold medalist, and Beretta USA team shooter, can now add a 2011 Pan American Men’s Double Trap gold medal to his trophy case.
Blowing his competition away with 147 out of a possible 150 targets, including a perfect 50 in the second round, Eller set a new Pan American Games record both for his match total and his overall total of 195. This golden moment follows the U.S. Olympic Fall Trials where he is in first place going into the final spring selections next May, and a bronze medal performance at the ISSF World Clay Target Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.  Eller certainly has his game face on as the 2012 Olympics approach, until then he can take pride in claiming the one international gold medal that was previously lacking from his trophy case.
