I wanted to thank Beretta USA for their sponsorship of the "Speed on Steel"

Product: Urika |
When my son started shooting consistent 23s in trap with his 20 gage at age
8 it was time for him to step up his game. I cut the stock down on my 686 to fit my son and cut him loose. Two years later my field weapon was getting the best of my shoulder so I picked up a 391 Urika. The only thing to say is WOW what a weapon. After 10,000 rounds the piston broke. I replaced it and now over 100,000 rounds later not one weapon-related malfunction. This weapon has been nothing short of a joy to shoot and own.
I am still shooting trap and still not able to beat my son. I will shoot nothing but Beretta and look forward to a new Teknys Gold Target. Thanks Beretta for money well spent.

I would just like to thank everyone at Beretta for their sponsorship of the World Class Steel event held at Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club. This is the second year that I have shot the event and everything has run very smoothly both years. This is due in part to the great people running the match and the unbelievable sponsorship from great companies like Beretta. This year I was the winner of a random drawing for a Beretta pistol. I would take the Beretta any day over them. Within nine months,
I shot over 4000 rounds with no problems. I even shot the Beretta

I got a 686 White Onyx
Sporting with 32 in. bbls for Christmas. I went and shot it the
day after and I was very impressed at how well it shot straight
out of the box. I hit 19/25 on my first try and the very first shot.
My shooting coach at school has been trying to get me one of these.
I called him that day and he was so excited. He said, "It's
like I'm getting a shotgun for Christmas, too". I would HIGHLY,
HIGHLY recommend the gun to anyone who is into shooting trap. I
haven't been able to test on a skeet course or sporting clays but
I am expecting it will do very well.

Recently, I became
involved in Skeet Shooting again, after a 13 year absence. I started
when I was in the military and always wanted to have a Beretta to
shoot. When I returned to the game, I was determined to shoot Beretta.
As a Police Officer, the only gun I will carry is a Beretta. I have
a 96D Centurion and have never had a malfunction with it. I love
that gun.
Back to Skeet, I searched and searched for a gun and came across
a 682 Gold E. It came tubed for the smaller gauges and I bought
it without hesitation.
I am a left-hand rifle shooter, so the club pro where I shoot had
an extra left stock for the gun and I couldn't be happier. I refinished
both the stock and fore stock. I love the entire Beretta product
line and will be a loyal customer for years to come.

Dear
Beretta,
I purchased my first competition 12 gauge in August 05 (686 White
Onyx) and have put about 10,000 shells through it in 5 months. I
love the gun and it has enabled me to be very competitive in a fairly
short period of time.........great gun. How many years can I expect
out of this gun before major repairs may be needed?

Dear Jack,
We have been trying to direct everyone to our Customer
Support if you have any questions. There are so many
questions that come in and Customer Support is much more able to
field your inquiries, BUT we asked our Field Service Manager if
he had time to answer this question and here is what he said:
First, thank you Jack for the purchase of our product and I am
sure you will enjoy this shotgun for many years.
To answer your question, the 680 series that you have purchase
is a work horse of a shotgun that holds up extremely well, and we
service many a year that have 50,000 to 100,000 rounds shot through
them each year. Some customers wait until the firearms are a couple
of years old or sometime they wait until they are several years
old before they need serviced. I would suggest with this many rounds
being shot a year, that you send it in to the factory each year
and let us give it a good inspection. Our turn around time is around
two weeks.
Here are a couple of things that you can do to help yourself:
- Make sure that you always have the top lever in the open position
when closing the barrels (top lever will be lock to the right
when installing the barrels or closing the barrels after reloading).
- Keep it clean and lubed; make sure that the area where the
for-end meets the receiver is kept lubed (this is the biggest
bearing surface of the shotgun).
- Also clean and lube the area where the locking lugs go into
the conical holes of the barrel (I use a Q-tip), clean and lube
the hinge pin area, (where the barrels pivot on the receiver)
and the ejectors (stud on sides and the rails that they ride in).
Enjoy, be safe and thank you.

do I get the product or service?
A: You didn't indicate the barrel length of your

barrel with Mobilchoke Flush (Field) tubes. You can upgrade the
barrel by adding Extended Length Mobilchoke tubes. The Mobilchoke
Extended Length choke tubes are available through the Beretta USA
website which are catalog items JCME21 through JCMEH28 tubes.
You can also purchase the Mobilchoke Victory tubes which are Cat.
Items C61686 through C61691. Most clay shooters use Extended Skeet
USA Mobilchokes which are catalog items JCMEH27 or Victory Extended
tubes, catalog item C61690. The Victory tubes are silver colored
and have colored bands to identify their choke types. All Extended
Length Mobilchoke tubes are $40 each and the Victory Extended tubes

Q: What you
have to do to be a beretta shooter?
A: Beretta shooters are a rare breed of people. The selection
process to be a Beretta shooter includes not only how well one shoots,
but also behavior off the range. Personal conduct, integrity and
the ability to interact with the public are characteristics that
Beretta considers as important as being able to 'smoke the clay'.
For these reasons, Beretta shooters are picked by Beretta. Often,
a member of our team will be present at competitions and shoots
across the country, and see a viable candidate to recommend for
sponsorship. So look out when you're stepping up to the line: a
Beretta representative may be looking at you to be the next Beretta

Beretta 682 Gold EX Trap
Submitted By: Henry
Product: 682
Gold E |
Q: I am Henry,
I leave overseas, and I am about to start trap shooting. I am interested
in shooting trap (both Olympic and universal), double trap, and
maybe electrocibles. I really liked Beretta's competition over and
unders and decided to purchase the 682 Gold E Double Trap model.
Now I wonder if the 682 Gold E X Trap model would be more suitable.
Please tell me which shooting discipline is the 682 E Gold X trap
model designed?
Any advice is welcome.
A: Beretta offers a wide array of trap model shotguns designed
specifically for a particular country’s need. Here in America
we offer a trap gun specific to American trap as the majority of
our trap shooters participate in American vs. Olympic competitions.
The difference in American vs. Olympic trap target presentations
is simple: American trap offers higher/slower targets thrown by
one machine. Therefore the American trap shotguns are set up to
shoot a higher point-of-impact typically around 60/70% point-of-impact.
Olympic target presentations are faster/flatter targets thrown by
multiple machines. These presentations require a flatter shooting
gun (especially for the second shot). It has been said that the
bunker guns should shoot no higher than 60% POP for the first shot
and no higher than 55% POP for the second shot.
While the US shooter appreciates the challenge of Olympic shooting,
unfortunately there are very few clubs in the US that offer Olympic
trap targets and the special bunkers/machines needed to offer these
very challenging target presentations.
Due to a shortage of bunkers in the US, BUSA does not offer Olympic
models as a part of our standard product offering.
Beretta USA does offer trap shotguns in both the 682E and DT10
families but these guns are designed specifically for American trap.
The DT10 has proven a successful 'Big Brother' to the 682E series.
Many of our top US shooters in all disciplines (trap, skeet, sporting)
use the DT10 Trident. As for the 682E series, the 682 has been one
of the most purchased target guns in the world and the series has
evolved as the shooter required a change in weight, balance, aesthetics,
etc. Both are fine shotguns offering years of use and can be handed
down from generation to generation. In America, we still see 680
style shotguns shot in competition. The 680 is the great grandfather
to the current 682 Gold E!
If you are interested in a bunker style trap shotgun, please visit
www.beretta.com for a full listing of the International or Olympic
style trap model shotguns and thank-you for your interest in Beretta
shotguns....

Q: I am a complete
beginner in trap shooting and would like to purchase a shotgun for
both trap and skeet. Would like to know which gun may be able to
support both. I suppose a trap gun with adjustable stock and chokes
is the way to go but which Beretta gun has this? Does the 686 E
X trap have an adjustable stock and would this be a good choice?
Also what is the difference between a trap and X-trap. I noticed
it has a higher rib but what is the purpose of this?
A: Hi Charlie,
If you plan on shooting both trap and skeet with one gun, might
I recommend a Sporting clays gun with a 30" barrel. This will
allow you enough sighting length down the rib for trap while still
being lively enough for skeet.
As to the purpose of the high rib, some trap shooters prefer the
high rib, it effectively makes the gun pattern 60% 40% high, this
works great for rising targets on a trap field but wouldn't work
well on a skeet field.
You may want to find a Beretta range that has loaner guns and you
could shoot a couple different models and see which you prefer.

I just want to express
my appreciation to the Beretta company for their sponsorship of
our Tri-State Law Enforcement Handgun Competition held at Storm
Mountain Training Center. All benefits from the shoot went towards
the Mineral County WV Tactical Response Team to assist in funding
their training and equipment needs. Beretta sales rep Jay Conners
came to the match and set up a booth and also contributed some outstanding
door prizes for our competitors. I really appreciate the fact that
Beretta supports the Law Enforcement community and sent a great
guy in Mr. Conners to support our match, despite the rain and sleet,
it was a great day. Thanks again Beretta and keep up the stellar
work.

I would like to thank you Beretta USA for your generosity for your
sponsorship of the pizza party and shooting clinic with the Olympic
team. It meant a lot to me to shoot with the team and will help
throughout my shooting career. The Lehigh Valley Scholastic Clay
Target Program would also like to thank you for the donation of
the Beretta 391 that we won, at the raffle on the Friday night shoot-offs.
It will be used to further the development of the Scholastic within
our area.

Every few weekends
I go to the local shooting range with one of my friends to do some
target practice. Because I am not of age to own a handgun I must
rent one which also gives me an opportunity to see how well they
perform under conditions that I would never put my own firearm through.
These include months without cleaning and thousands or rounds put
through them by hundreds of people. I have rented firearms made
by various manufacturers and had many problems with all of them
except for the Beretta 92. This shows to me that this is a high
quality firearm and it is the firearm I myself will purchase when
i come to the proper age in a few weeks

Last
Sat. myself and 2 friends were experimenting with the new pistol
that my wife had bought for herself. She has a U22 NEOS. We attached
a Red Head red dot sight to it. Using standard 22.lr ammo, we were
hitting a 5" target consistently at 100 yards. We found it
to be just a great pistol for target shooting. Both of my friends
went out to purchase one after we were done shooting!

Teknys Gold competition gun for clays, skeet, trap.
I also want to use it for waterfowl.
Any suggestions as to a multi purpose do it all gun?
I'm not a consummate clays shooter and want to get better.
My Benelli SBE is great for ducks not targets.
Would appreciate feedback,

Hello my name is Jonathan

New Jersey's Southern Zone Handicap Championship with a Beretta
682 X-trap with a score of 98 out of 100 and i was also able to
win Doubles 'C' class runner up at the New Jersey State Trapshoot.
I've just purchased the Dt10 Trident combo set and already
I'm shooting 99's and 98's once again. Thanks Beretta for making
such a great competition gun for trapshooting.

I bought this gun after a friendly shooter at the local club let
me try one. I've never had a gun that just worked so completely
for me. Since I got this gun my average has gone from low 70's to
high 80's! Every trip it just gets better and better. I can't say
enough about this Beretta. It makes trips to shoot less like work
and a lot more like fun!

When
I purchased my 682 Gold E Sporting I was very impressed by the level
of fit and finish by Beretta. The Opti-Bore choke system patterned
better than after market chokes and felt recoil was significantly
reduced. The first time I went to shoot a round of sporting clays
with the 682 Gold E I shot a 47 out of 50. The Second time I shot
a 49 out of 50. I am proud to say that I own several Beretta Over
and Unders and this won't be my last. The 682 Gold E is an amazing
shotgun and is worth the extra expense. Thank You again Beretta

As
anyone on Beretta Forum knows I've been shooting IPSC now for 3
years. Using my Beretta Elite II's I have taken 2nd place Nationally
in Canada in Production Division (2003), won the British Columbia
Production Division Title (2003), and won a number of matches this
year as well. I owe a lot of my success to the Elite II's I shoot,
as they fit my hand naturally and point where I want them to without
any effort. As well last year I won the BC Sniper Championships
with my partner Don Hall, and was using my Sako TRG-22 in that competition.
Again this gun just fits me, and shooting it is a breeze. I look
forward to seeing what new products Beretta comes out with in the
coming years, and hope to add them to my collection.

With the shooting
sports becoming more and more popular today, our new high school
accepted a proposal to allow a high school trapshooting team to
be organized.
The response was overwhelming when we held our first signup meeting
and we had tallied a roster of nearly 75 jr. high and high school
students. We never believed that we would have so many kids interested
in trying out trapshooting.
Our school is located in eastern Nebraska and with Nebraska hosting
the largest youth shooting competition in the world, it was great
to see us start with such a large foundation.
Each
year the Nebraska Game and Parks hosts the largest youth shooting
competition in the WORLD. With a registration of 1,400 jr. and sr.
high school students registered to shoot. No other competition,
not even the Grand National can compare.
Our shooters work very hard at practice and we have set academic
standards as well. We registered 50 students this year for the state
shoot and hope for more in the upcoming years. We even worked out
a set of rules and statutes, which would qualify certain students
to be awarded a Varsity School Letter for their Letter Jackets.
This is a great thing for those kids who don't, or aren't able to
compete in other school ports and yet earn a letter for a school
sport. (It is an Olympic sport).
The community has welcomed it being our first year and we hope
to see it grow.
More programs like this, which reflect a positive outcome for
shooting sports, will do nothing but good and the kids learn many
positive characteristics with the sport as well. (Safe and responsible
gun handling, good sportsmanship, individual achievement, cooperation,
discipline, concentration, hand-eye coordination, physical overcomes
and many others.
We hope to see many other schools try to start programs like these
in the future to help our sport grow and to shine a bright light
on this sport.
This sport is also a very expensive sport as well and we as coaches
have had to dig deep in our own pockets to keep it up and running
and not charge the kids to the point were they couldn’t afford
to do it any longer.
With gun purchases, shells, shooting apparel and purchasing targets,
this sport can really hinder what a student and parent can spend
on a sport. If you own a business or would like to contribute a
tax-deductible organization for our kids, we would sure like to
hear from you.
Please feel free to contact me.

I shoot Skeet and
trap at the local range but have had problems because I'm in a wheelchair.
In a nutshell, my "Other" skeet rifle was too heavy and
I couldn't train in on the clays fast enough. You might be wondering
how fast do I need to be or how slow am I but the problem is really
that being in a wheelchair I have about 1/3rd the range of most
people. I can only turn my shoulders and not my waist or hips. I
recently purchased a 686 Whitewing that's much lighter and therefore
I can track faster with the gun and now I am shooting much better
with fewer misses. I don't know what I would do, other than miss
a lot, if it where not for the lightweight and superb engineering
of the Beretta Skeet Rifles.

Three
years ago I purchased a used 92FS 9mm pistol in 80%-90% condition.
Inspired by Earnest Langdon and his 92G series pistol, I planned
to "trick-out" this ordinary 92FS for IDPA & IPSC
shooting. However after shooting it the first time at the range,
I decided the pistol was fine just as is. Seeing how it was used
there's no telling how many rounds were fired through it before
it arrived into my ownership. Yet, I have personally put a bit over
4000 rounds through it. (I try to keep a close eye on such things.)
Thus far I have yet to have a single malfunction of ANY kind! There
are not many pistols that can say that. Thanks for letting me share
my experience on your website. I do have one request: the 92FS I
own is a workhorse and the plastic grips are in bad shape, how/where
can I order and purchase a set of new grips? Thanks again. -J.P.

It
started with a look in the glass case. There it was a Cougar chambered
in the .45. I just had to have it after picking it up and seeing
how it felt in my hands. So out came the Visa card and after a short
wait we would be together. First day on the range; fifty then a
hundred, it was a love affair that would never end. Then I bought
the forty cal. if the .45 was this nice tthen I wanted it
for my carry gun.Tthen I bought the neo .22 saying bye to the Smiths
and Brownings, Colts and Rugers I am now a full fledge Beretta man
I cannot wait for my storm to get here. I am so anxious.
Thanks for everything. Keep the great guns coming

I am 14 years old, and I shot in my first shoot
last month. In my first round, I shot a 17. Then right after that,
I shot another 17. It was a member shoot, and after that, we played,
blackjack. In that I hit a 21. That was good enough to win class
C. The funny thing was, the shoot took so long, everyone thought
they did bad, and left, and there was a tie in every other class.
So the end result was, I won $57. I shoot a Beretta model 390 mallard,
12 gauge.

Hello,
Just wanted to drop you folks a note of thanks
for making sure a fine shotgun. I recently purchased a 682 Gold
E Sporting shotgun with 32" barrels. This weekend I shot it,
for the second time since receiving it, in a Sporting Clays tournament
at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays in Pennsylvania. I came in first
in my class, "C", and with this win, I will be moving
up to "B" class in the NSCA. The gun was a pleasure to
shot. Thanks again for making such a fine firearm.

I'm also pleased to say I also won 2 other Beretta
shotguns, a 12 gauge 686 Silver Pigeon Sporting, my first sporting
clays gun, and a 687 Silver Pigeon Sporting in 20 gauge, which I
also use for Sporting clays.

Hi, My name is Lance
and I have shot trap my whole life. But I had never entered a registered
shoot until March 20, 2004. I had purchased a Beretta 391 trap and
shot it only twice before the shoot. The day of the shoot I heard
all about how you can’t use an auto shooting double and be
consistent, but after the final round I had won a buckle and money!
I wish I had started doing this sooner in life, but I will never
shoot anything but a Beretta shotgun. I like it so much in fact,
today I bought my wife a 391 20 gauge and she loves it so far. If
anybody has any pointers on the best ways to customize these guns
please let me know. Wish I had pictures to send.

On the last weekend of duck hunting I managed
to drop my Xtrema in the JamesRiver, fortunately only in a foot of
water. It was no fun reaching in after it as it was 15 degrees that
morning. After disassembling, drying and lubricating the gun, and
re assembling it, it functions as good as ever. A testament to Beretta's
superior construction.
