Q: I would like to hear about how well the charcoal finish
holds up in actual usage.
Plan to use suede lined holster.
A: The charcoal-blue finish we put on our Stampede Deluxe
has been researched to replicate the looks and the "behavior"
of the original finish found on 1870's revolvers. This means that
it will be considerably less impervious to holster-wear as a normal
blue such as the finish on our regular Stampede. However, the way
charcoal-blue gradually fades with wear creates a unique aged look
that is as natural as that found on a well-preserved antique revolver
- which is the principal reason why our customer choose it.
In other words, your Stampede Deluxe is meant to "age"
just like an original. Depending on how much you use it and pull
it in and out of a holster, within a few years the blue finish will
become a tasteful patina that will make your gun look exactly like
an antique.
I hope this answers your question!
Good luck and thank you for supporting our product.
