Having looked at the 92/96 series, I decided that the 90-Two in .40 S&W would be ideal for home protection. I have not been disappointed. A truly fine gun.

Product: CX4 Storm

I purchased a Beretta .40 over a year ago for home protection and couldn't be happier. It is extremely accurate and, even after a few hundred rounds, I've never encountered a problem.

I also had the opportunity to shoot my brothers new CX4 Storm this past weekend. I loved everything about it and will consider picking one up in the future for myself.

(Just wanted to add that my guard dog (a miniature Bassett Hound lol) is named Beretta...and she lives up to the name as well!)

I know the feeling that Beretta seems to take your hand and mold the grips to it. I have the 92FS 9mm. I am left handed the 92FS fits my hand perfectly. I plan on getting the PX4 in 9mm soon. I was at a gun store looking around and checking the prices on their guns and when I ask where the Berettas were, the owner said they were a thing of the past. Needless to say, I stopped looking, said "Thank you" and left the store. I still think that Berettas are the best and most left-handed-friendly guns out there—straight out of the box. Most others have to be special ordered, sent off, taken to a gunsmith or something of that nature in order for left-handed shooters to shoot in some comfort.

Product: Cheetah

A recurring theme among submissions to the Beretta Communities Clubhouse is the unique "feel" that your pistols provide the user. I've handled a wide variety of pistols of every caliber and when I first put my hand around a Cheetah 84 Nickel .380 it was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
Admittedly, it was vanity that first drew my attention to the Cheetah as it was easily the best-looking handgun in the gun dealer's case. It shoots flawlessly and - as pointed out by another email contributor - it feels as though Beretta used my right hand as the form/mold for this exceptionally comfortable handgun.

You must handle one to understand. I've always respected Beretta quality (love my Tomcat Inox for concealed carry) and have spent some time on their website educating and updating myself on their products. I'll be adding a
PX4 Storm .40 to my collection in a week or so. My other guns from other manufacturers just don't seem to get much use these days. Congrats to Beretta for constantly improving their product line and not sitting on their laurels (which would be easy to do with a 500-year history).

The model 92fs is turning heads with my friends who all prefer the 1911s. Both are great guns, but I will stay with my 92fs. It has the smoothest trigger pull of all the guns I have shot lately. My 1911 buddies are impressed that in single action mode it has a lighter trigger pull than their 1911. Just another reason to stay with the best. Thanks Beretta for being the best in my book.

This is the first handgun purchase that I did not regret. The Tomcat 3032 fits in your pocket and is very accurate. The recoil and overall feel is amazing. I would recommend this pistol to anyone who wants a small, light, reliable everyday carry pistol.

Thanks Beretta for making a great affordable product.

I own two Cougars. One is a 9mm and the other is a 357SIG. I love them both. I have put several hundred rounds through both of them. They are extremely accurate and utterly reliable. I am new to the shooting hobby and absolutely love it. I have owned several 9mm models by other manufacturers for many years but never shot them until recently. I shot OK with them. I bought the PX4 .40 a couple of weeks ago and took it to the range. WOW! I was deadly accurate with that firearm.

Most of my shots landed in the 10 pt. bullseye on the silhouette and all within a 6 in. grouping. I have small hands and the gun with the small backstrap fits perfectly in my hand and the recoil wasn't any more than that of my 9mm. I absolutely LOVE the gun! It has become my primary personal and home defense weapon... for right now. I plan on purchasing the PX4 subcompact 9mm and carrying it with me on a daily basis. I also just ordered the u22 NEOs along with a red dot sight for it and can't wait to shoot it this weekend. I am a Beretta customer for life.

I just want to thank Beretta for the fine pistols they create. In the last 3 months I have purchased the PX4 .40 caliber, the 92FS 9MM and the 92FS stainless steel 9MM. I cannot get enough of the Beretta-made gunes. I have yet to shoot my two 92FS models, but have shot the PX4 and must say I am very satisfied with the results. I will be getting my CCW license soon and it will be a touch choice deciding which gun I will carry with me. I may just have to trade off each week. Keep it up Beretta...

Subject: PX4 40 cal. Problem

Submitted By: Robert Whitey

Product: PX4 Storm

I recently purchased a PX4 in 40 cal for my concealed carry gun. After putting a few hundred rounds through it without any misfeeds or misfires, I just loved it. (I also had the barrel cryo-treated) Well, now, my problem is that after inviting my wife out to the range she won't give back my 40 cal. Last week she put over 150 rounds through it and was asking for more ammo! She own a 686 357mag and normally shoots 38 specials through it. She also shoots my 5904 in 9mm, but still insists on keeping the PX4 for herself. Thanks Beretta for making such a fine pistol. It looks like my only solution here is to buy another PX4 in 45 cal and not let her shoot it!

Thanks again Beretta.

I purchased my first Cheetah recently. This is an excellent firearm for personal defense. It is easily concealed in my front inside waistband holster. It carries 13 rounds (9 comfortably for the spring). It took me a 50 rounds to get used to the gun, but in my last range visit I got seven (count 'em) 7 in the bulleye out of nine. The gun breaks down easily for cleaning and is a pleasure to carry and own. Smaller rounds than a true 9mm packing a wallop. Smooth operation with a smidge of stiffness on the slide (tough and robust spring). I carry it with confidence and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and solid firearm.

My wife and I have lived in unsafe areas for the last fifteen years. I have had extensive firearms training, but she has not. We are temporarily back in civilization and we were determined to give her proper training. She has taken the NRA pistol class and now has 20+ hours of range training with various handguns. We learned that most handguns are simply too large or too difficult for her to handle effectively in a stressful situation.

I purchased a .22 cal Baretta Model 21A with a Crimson-Trace Laser Grip attached. In my opinion, this is an ideal match for both of us.

Two important factors are not often discussed when self-defense handguns are considered. First, the gun must be in your hand to do any good. This lightweight, easily carried handgun is more likely to be available and in your hand than any larger weapon. Second, the bullet must hit the target.
With the aid of the laser, the point and shoot hit ratio nears 90%. One or two little .22s in the target beats any 9 Mil or .45 that misses the target. Practice is essential. This .22 is inexpensive to shoot, is not intimidating to the shooter, and will do adequate damage to a target with minimal collateral damage if you miss.

This is an ideal personal defense weapon.

I really like the fit, finish and overall quality of Beretta firearms. My first Beretta was a Stampede in .45 cal. It impressed me, so I purchased a PX4 in 9mm and it is a great shooter. Yesterday I took delivery of a new 85F Cheetah. The Cheetah is a very nice firearm and I look forward to qualifying with it for concealed carry. The PPS/S is going into the safe.

My next purchase will be the .32 Tomcat.

As a former Marine Aviator in the Vietnam era, we carried a 38 revolver on our flight suits into combat. If ever surrounded, we said it would be better to use it on ourselves instead of the enemy.

My recent purchase of the Beretta M9A1 casts a different light on that and brings me great satisfaction. The style, the excellence in engineering are all appreciated.

It is off to the range for some expert checkout and to qualify for the concealed pistol permit.

I am one happy "Bubba", thanks to Beretta.

Beretta, thank you for making one fine gun!

I am a Concealed Deadly Weapons Instructor in the State of Kentucky. I am also a personal firearms trainer and on the range the Beretta 92 FS Stainless has NEVER, NEVER had any malfunction. On the range, I judge the dependability of a firearm and the 92 FS comes out on top time after time.

There are two guns that I depend on for my personal and families protection.
One is the Beretta 92 FS in stainless and the other is a 1911 style 3 inch
.45 from the maker's custom shop. (I will not mention the other maker's

I have to say I am impressed by this pistol. I am a die hard fan of a competitor. I purchased a 92 with the 96 conversion package to train for my job. One afternoon I had just finished shooting some pretty nice groups with the 92 and as I always do, I sprayed the pistol down with WD40 to break down the carbon until I got home to clean it up. Darned if I didn't drop it, breach open, soaking wet with lube, and no magazine into the sandy wash where I was shooting. After many cuss words I loaded full mag, dropped the slide and pulled the trigger, just to see what would happen. It fired 3 full 15 round mags without a hiccup. I tried that with 2 different very high quality products by competitors after that and both failed, and they were very difficult to clean. They are still gritty a year later. Not the Beretta. The 96 is now my nightstand gun and protects my home. It has the smoothest action I have ever felt. Thank you Beretta.

I finally took my PX4 9mm to the range yesterday. Wow. The sights are fast to pick up. I think I finally hit on the right grip selection because I was nailing the targets. At 25 yds, I was blowing away little pieces of the skeet clays on the berm. One or two shots would be right around the target, and then boom little orange clay piece would disappear. I could tell the difference in the recoil as well. It was softer than I expected.

During my years in the US ARMY as a UH-60 Black Hawk Crew Chief, I trusted my Beretta M9. People want to talk up Glock, I am sure that Glock makes a fine weapon. The difference is that the Beretta M9 was tested in the harshest environment and that is the sands of IRAQ - a place where you can't always keep your weapon as clean as you want. You just have to trust it. My M9 always shot flawlessly and never gave me a problem. Now that I am out of the service, I purchased a 9mm PX4 Storm. The PX4 is by far the most balanced and best shooting pistol I have ever shot. My future plans are to also buy a 92F. I trust Beretta.

Subject: My new Tomcat

Submitted By: Carl Ross

Product: Tomcat

Hi folks,

I wanted to tell you all how much I love my new gun. I am a ccw permit holder here in Ohio. I am 41 and have owned guns since was 21. I currently own 9 different pistols, though had never, until recently, owned any Berettas. I had shot a model 92 years ago and liked it, but never bought any for myself. Anyway, being a ccw holder, I would occasionally carry a firearm with me. My usual carry gun is a 2" 357 magnum 7 shot revolver. It shoots well, it hits very hard, and it's stainless so I don't worry about sweating on it, etc. However, I didn't carry it as often as I wanted to because it is kind of heavy.

So I went shopping for a small gun I wouldn't mind carrying anywhere-anytime. I looked at a few models from really small revolvers to small autos like kel-tec or NAA and your Tomcat 32 cal. INOX, etc. I decided to buy your gun even though it was more expensive than a lot of others, because to me it looked to be very well manufactured and felt solid as a rock.

I took it to the range this past weekend to break it in. I tried three clips each of eight different brands of 32 ammo to see how it shot and to see if it had any favorites or dislikes in feeding, etc. I am amazed at how well it shoots! Really! I did not expect too much in the accuracy department from this gun, with its short barrel. However, I can tell you all honestly that the gun fired all eight types of ammo, from hollow points to semi-flat to regular round nose jacketed rounds, with ease. I had NO JAMS! None, right out of the box! I mean I did lube it first but really that was all.

In addition to needing no break in, your little gun printed mostly 2"
groups (from a rest and at 50 feet) The only larger group was about 3.5"
and it was only from one brand of ammo. All of the rounds hit a tiny bit left of center as well (all 8 brands did this.) So I went to my local gunsmith yesterday and drifted the rear site just a smidgeon to the right, and back at the range, the gun is spot on! When I shoot it without a rest in one- or two-hand grip (it's so light it doesn't matter), I get consistent 4-5 inch groups at 50 feet. I want to thank you all for making such great, tiny little gun. I know its not that powerful, but I won't mind carrying it everywhere I go.

The Glock and the Walther were both real good guns, but I could never get used to the trigger. At 15 yards, I could never get a tight group. The group was usually 6-7 inches and not tight at all. I shot my Beretta Px4 for the first time with 16 rounds in it. My first clip at 15 yards was a tight 2-3 inches, of which 6 shots just kept making a bigger hole. I now have a gun I can feel confident about, and am very happy with this gun.

I recently purchased a Beretta 92 Border Marshal FS, and am extremely happy with the weapon. I have owned the Beretta 92FS Stainless and it shot so smooth it felt like it had roller bearings under the slide. I did not know that Beretta could make one of these weapons shoot any smoother, but they did with the Border Marshal. It has a little heaver slide and a smaller barrel length, but is more impressive than the standard 92FS (which is a fine weapon). I have shot about 3000 rounds through the gun and have had no malfunctions (I keep my weapons clean). I have nicknamed the 92 Border Marshal FS the "tack driver" because at 35 yards I can put tacks on a 2x4 and never miss. Very impressive.

My CX4 in .45 ACP is a terrific little shooter. I personally found shooting without a scope to be a bit uncomfortable because of the stock configuration. But, with the addition of a one ring tactical red dot, all that changed. This puppy can lay 'em in on target at 50 yards. It's fast and ergonomically perfect with that one little change. I could wish for a slightly less mushy trigger, but for its purpose, this gun has no peer.

Now give me a PX4 in .45 and we'll all be happy.

I have been a lifelong Beretta owner. I began with 92fs with factory Trijicons. My Grandfather got it for my birthday. He carried a model 1942 9mm corto for years as his personal protection gun. I have owned a Border Marshall 96 for the last five years, and I will soon begin IDPA matches with it. Carry the best and train like it matters. I have never had a malfunction with either gun and I have fired thousands of rounds. Even the 1942 looks and shoots like new.

I purchased a Cougar 8040 last November and have put about 500 rounds through it and I love it. I recently had a friend join me for his first time ever shooting and he had the opportunity to shoot both the Cougar and the Model 96 Inox. I believe I have him hooked and will be purchasing one before long. Thank you for some very fine hand guns.

I recently bought a Beretta 8040 Mini Cougar. It is my first .40 S&W. I was worried that the small grip would be a problem but it handles very well. I love it as much as I do my 92fs.

Out of all my pistols (glocks, hk, sig, fn) my Beretta Cougar is the most accurate and the smoothest shooting. It is also the most ergonomic and fits my hands better than the rest.

I also own a CX4 Carbine in 9mm. I haven't shot it yet but am looking forward to it. I'm definitely in the market for more Berettas. Long live PB.

After every new firearm I've purchased, and I have purchased quite a few over the years, there is always some improvement I believe the factory could make. That experience ended with the recent purchase of a CX4 in 40 S&W. This carbine is by far the best thought out and engineered design I have ever seen. Every time I think of something, it turns out Beretta already thought of it. Out of the box, there is no need for improvement.

The folks at Beretta should take a bow. Great work and thank you for the time and obvious effort you folks put into this firearm.

I've owned several Berettas. My two current Berettas are the 92FS 9MM, and the Beretta .22 Bobcat. I have very slender hands, but these firearms mold to the contours of both of my hands. I've put around 120 rounds through the 92FS, with no jamming, and clean, crisp trigger pull. Shot good patterns, too. The .22 Bobcat is so much fun to shoot, I lost count of how much ammo I fired through it over the years. And no jams, either. Good patterns at combat range.

I have owned almost every quality pistol out there, from HK to Sig. I must say, I am most happy and accurate with my Berettas—for function and reliability. I am working on getting one of each pistol that Beretta has to offer. I have tried the others, but am coming back to the best.

I am the proud owner of a new PX4 Storm in .40 cal. I can't wait to take it to the range on Saturday and start practicing. I had looked at a .357 S&W and a HK P2000(.40) but finally decided on the Beretta because of its "feel" not to mention how it "looks". As soon as I picked the gun up I knew it was the right one for me. I wished I had gotten to Beretta sooner.

I purchased the CX4 Storm. I liked the quality, caliber, and overall appearance of the weapon. My first trip to the range was memorable. Out of the box, the weapon was accurate. It shot on the paper but high and left at fifty yards. The target measures about 1.5 X 1 foot. After an easy sight adjustment the Storm got to work. I proceeded to shoot around four hundred rounds through it. The rifle shot very well. It had low recoil. It never jammed. It was easy to get on target in rapid fire mode. I was very happy with it's performance. The attached picture is of my last target of the day. The picture says it all. The Cx4 Storm is a great rifle.

I am a single female (mom) and just purchased my first firearm for self-home protection. After contemplating several Glock and Sig models I went with the PX4 Storm .9mm and I am so glad I did. It felt right in my hand from the start and it is light. The quality of Beretta is what sold me on the pistol. I also like the flexibility the PX4 offers with different sized grips to make a custom fit to my hand. I am curious if anyone can tell me if there are plans to make a .22 conversion kit for the PX4 Storm down the road? Thank you for making such a fine quality firearm.

Beautiful pistol and excellent accuracy. The .40 cal. has the impact beyond any .45 cal. pistol I've ever fired. With the Beretta target sight I had installed on the rear, I have achieved a 4" grouping at 50 yds. The pistol seems to have taken about 500 rounds to break in, where as the trigger and slide get smooth and precise.

Its rolling firing pin, de-cocker is a must have safety feature. People at the range constantly ask to see and shoot it. Coupled with the CX4 in the same caliber makes for extremely cheap fun for the entire family. Thanks to everyone at Beretta keep up the good work. CX4 Storm

To Phillip Owen (See Below): I share your problem. I had laser surgery to get rid of glasses for golf and shooting. But, the problems of front sight vs target remain. I have one eye set for reading and one eye set for distance. With the reading eye, I see the front sight ...distance eye, the target. So, I focus on the front sight and have a blurry target to work with. Practice does help, but so does a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight. I have put them on my Elite II, 96 and 92 Brigs, my Glocks, my Sigs and my Kimber 1911 creating the same sight picture regardless of the weapon used. That has made a tremendous difference.

Subject: Sights on M96

Q: I have a M96 .40 cal that I bought several years ago. It has the standard red dot sights. My eye sight is not what it use to be and I now wear bifocal lens which makes it hard to focus on the sights and on the target. Is there anything I can do to the sights to make it easier to see them better? I need my glasses to get a clear image of the target but then the sights are out of focus. I really like the M96 but need better sights. Any ideas?

A: Let's see if we can help Mr. Owen out. He must understand that after he gets proper sight alignment, what I mean by this, is to bring his sights (front and rear) in alignment with the target. After this is done his rear sight and the target will come some what out of focus, his front sight will be the only thing that needs to be in full focus ( the human eye cannot clearly focus on more than one object at a time). At this point it is up to Mr. Owen to find what glasses will give him a clear focus on the front sight while the pistol is at arms length and practice ,practice and practice.

I hope this helps.

I finally got my first 92FS this weekend. There was never a doubt that my first firearm would be a Beretta. At the range, I shot tighter groups with the 92 at 25ft. ,than with a Glock 17 at 20ft. A few days ago I bought my first Beretta pistol. Since I am a 5'2" woman, I bought a Tomcat Model 3032 in black. I love the easy operation and the size, 32 caliber. My father owns several guns and since I was a child I've watched him take care of them. His most valuable possession was his Beretta pistol. Now I understand him! I am taking my Tomcat to the range this weekend and will be taking a Gun Safety and Marksmanship Instruction class after Thanksgiving. One cannot go wrong with a firearm from you. Please keep building the best guns in the market and thanks for making such a small one! Regards to all the Beretta owners.

Howdy: I wanted a concealed carry gun (deep concealment) for when I am carrying my expensive camera equipment or communications gear. Not a threat around, really but I didn't want to be unpleasantly surprised. I toss the Tomcat to the inside the pants holster and I'm ready. The tip up barrel makes it easier to clear the weapon or to load it without having to rack the heavy spring. Also tip-up idea is great for checking to see if the weapon is loaded. The only downside is the slide doesn't stay open after the last round. My next 9mm is a 92. The Tomcat first, then the big brother!

VertecQ: I recently added the Vertec .40 to my stable. I would have to say that it is one of the more outstanding items displayed in my gun cabinet. (Along with my other Berettas.) It's fun to shoot and it draws attention at the range when I use the accessory rails to mount my light. Only one question, will the normal Beretta 96 magazines for the same caliber work with my Vertec?
A: You can use the standard magazine for Beretta model 96. It works perfectly in the model 96 Vertec cal. 40S&W.

I have been shooting for over 15 years. I have a special affinity for semi-automatic pistols. I have used many, many Glock models, and also Sig and Ruger. The glocks are crap because they're so light, the recoil is heavier - making second shots harder. Also, the Glock 17's slide will jump back and CUT YOU if you grip it too high. The Sigs are too chunky, and the Rugers aren't as proven as either of the others. The bottom line is that if you want 100% reliability, high ease-of-operation, AND the sexiest looking pistol in the world, go with what our armed forces rely on - The Beretta 92.

Words can't explain how I feel about my 92F. I have owned this gun for about 20yrs +/-. When I tell you this firearm has NOT malfunctioned once, I mean it has not malfunctioned once. and trust me when I tell you that I have put at least 7000 rounds through this gun and again, not one malfunction.

I shoot steel plates with this gun, I shoot IDPA with this gun and I target shoot this gun to death, and again not one malfunction!!! What more can I say, that's why when Beretta came out with the CX4 Storm, I didn't even think twice and bought it in 9mm.

October 4th it will be 2yrs I have owned the Storm and I think you all know what I am going to say next; That's right, NOT one malfunction. This rifle is so accurate and so much fun to shoot too!!! Also as a plus because Beretta is so smart the magazine's are interchangeable.

Thank you Beretta and keep up the great work.

Earlier this year I had written about how much my wife liked "her" 92FS(OD) and I thought I would give a bit of an update. Since we bought the 92FS(OD) in December, I have also acquired an 8040F Inox and an 8000L that I just couldn't pass up.. but I still had my eye on getting my own 92... an Inox. CX4 StormI just recently bought the Cx4 Storm in .45 caliber. I don't have a lot of experience with shooting, but I took it to the range today and managed to keep all but two shots inside the circle (with several in bullseye). I was even shooting with only the standard sights. This is my second time at the range, and both times, my gun drew lots of attention. I'm looking into getting a flashlight and laser sight for it. Is that both a flashlight and laser in one on some of the pictures that Beretta has online? Also, I found an accessory page with a Burris "Speed Dot" sight. Is that just a scope with a red dot in the center of view, or does it project the dot on the image? Thanks, and thank you Beretta for a great gun.

Beretta: Speed dot is not a laser site, It is just a scope with a red dot in the enter of view.

Having reviewed the other current submittals by Beretta CX4 Storm purchasers, it is obvious that we want a Beretta magazine with a much higher capacity than eight (8) rounds. Yet you continue to state no interest in manufacturing or providing this simple request to shooters like myself who have spent our hard-earned dollars to purchase your products. One can only assume that Beretta doesn't want to fully satisfy its customers. So I can only say that the CX4 Storm in .45 ACP is really a terrific shooting machine, but will become extinct very quickly unless you listen to some of these customers who are simply asking for a minor manufacturing effort from Beretta.

Beretta: We're glad to hear that Beretta fans are enjoying the products we develop with so much passion. We also like to hear from you what things we can do better. One of these things (many of you are asking for it) is a higher capacity magazine for the CX4 Storm. We are working hard to make Beretta-quality higher capacity magazines available for all of Beretta friends and we trust we'll be able to make you happy soon!

I'm fairly new to guns (I've had a .22 rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun, which I no longer have). I want a gun for protection at home. Since my wife's and my hands shake a little anyway, and I'm pretty comfortable (and more accurate) with rifles, I was thinking that the Cx4 would be a good choice. Am I correct in assuming that the recoil would also be less than that of a pistol of whichever caliber I decide on? Also, I need some suggestions on which caliber to choose.

Beretta: The Cx4 Storm will generally have less recoil than a handgun of the same caliber. The 9mm model of Cx4 Storm has the least amount of recoil.
