STOCK MAKER
DESCRIPTION: Customize and shape wooden stocks on firearms, based on specifications provided by the customer or qualified Gun Fitter. Responsibilities include shaping stocks from a headed blank, checkering both stocks and fore-ends, applying oil finish and repairing scratches or defects in wooden stocks. Handles repair or replacement of various types of stocks and for-ends, and recognition of a variety of gun parts, gun stocks, and interchangeability among various models.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Create ready-to-shoot stocks from inletted gun stocks. Travel in conjunction with the Beretta team to attend major shows and events providing on-the-spot modifications to customers’ gun stocks. Utilize understanding of wood and its characteristics for the proper application and use of stains and finishes as well as their repair. Interact and support the Quality Assurance Department by closely monitoring the implementation of engineering changes and modifications on firearms. Determine need for parts stocks and tools; complete service department order form to obtain parts. Assess condition of firearm stocks received for repair or replacement. Answer technical questions for customers and internal departments. Assist with the training of new employees in the Gunsmith department. Work in conjunction with a qualified Gun Fitter in order to best accommodate customers needs and provide support to the Gunsmith team.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience as Gun Stock Maker required. Graduate of a recognized Gunsmith school, with a minimum of 5 years of stock making/stock rework using the recognized tools and machines of the trade, or combination of training/experience. Ability to operate CNC equipment preferred. Computer experience required. Manual dexterity to perform intricate repairs. Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, lift and carry parts and products. Ability to communicate effectively; both oral and written. Ability to travel by plane required. Ability to work weekends and overtime when necessary and maintain a flexible schedule as emergencies arise.
GUN FITTER
DESCRIPTION: Provide customers a fitting service for our Beretta Premium Shotguns. Responsibilities involve greeting customers at Beretta USA, providing showroom tours of our Premium Gun Showroom, fitting customers to guns and working in conjunction with our Stock Maker to provide end users with tailor-fit stocks. Maintain the Premium Gun Showroom and managing the appointments calendar.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Greet and entertain customers visiting Beretta U.S.A. Utilize knowledge of shotguns and gun fitting to ensure customers receive tailor-made custom stocks for their Premium Beretta shotguns. Assist Premium Gun sales team to provide technical information to customers visiting the Beretta Premium Gun Showroom. Travel with the events team to major shoots and events to take customer stock measurements. Support Sales team with general Beretta shotgun related inquiries. Answer technical questions for customers and internal departments.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Level III Shooting Instructor experience with a minimum of 5 years experience competing as a high-level shooter in Skeet, Trap or Sporting required. Computer experience required. Knowledge and understanding of firearms and how they operate. Ability to understand the mechanical function and interaction of the firearm’s working parts. Ability to understand customer’s requirements when creating custom stocks. Ability to understand the difference and proper use of various ammunitions. Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, lift and carry parts and products. Ability to communicate effectively; both oral and written. Ability to travel by plane required. Ability to work weekends and overtime when necessary and maintain a flexible schedule as emergencies arise.
