MANUFACTURING/ASSEMBLY ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION:  The objectives of the Manufacturing/Assembly Engineer are to develop, install, and support manufacturing and assembly operations that will produce products to meet organizational objectives. Responsibilities include ensuring proper quality level and cost that allows the company to be competitive in the market place.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and assembly methods, utilizing knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, fixture design and production equipment capabilities. This activity covers all phases of machining, finishing, and assembly. Implement the developed manufacturing/ assembly methods and follow-up the process. Confer with manufacturing and assembly operations, using technical expertise, to solve production, cost, and quality problems. Confer with vendors supplying purchase components, tooling, and equipment on cost, quality, and delivery matters. Analyze quality trend data for targeted process improvement and error proofing. Develop cost reductions projects. Supervise manufacturing engineering personnel, as required.  
 
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:  BSME, BSIE, or equivalent experience. Experience with Solid Modeling using Unigraphics NX6. Extensive knowledge of fixtures to aid with sub-assemblies and final assembly with the ability to design such fixtures. Knowledge of manufacturing, finishing, and assembly methods.Dimensional and tolerance relationships. Must have good computer and mathematical skills. Requires strong problem solving abilities. Must be able to work in a professional group office environment.



PRODUCTION MANAGER
 
DESCRIPTION: Supervise and coordinate the activities of production employees to include the machining, roll marking, buffing and assembly of firearms.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise production personnel to ensure production output is in line with standards. Interpret company policies to employees, and enforce safety regulations. Regularly interface with engineers regarding production requirements. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to employees, and assign duties. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Perform activities of employees supervised. Complete employee time and attendance records for payroll. Initiate and suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve production schedule. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in doing so, when part or whole of assigned work is beyond the capacity of person executing such work. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
 
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma. Experience in production supervision and experience with production machining equipment and processes. Previous experience with lean manufacturing. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and performance reviews; maintain employee attendance records. Good problem solving skills. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. Ability to operate production equipment and use of safety protective equipment, as required. Basic pc skills required; word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and Internet.
