Travis Mears

Instilling
a lifelong passion for the sport of shooting
in young shooters is just one of the goals
of Beretta’s new
Youth Council. This important initiative will
educate youth and their parents across the
country about the benefits of shooting, particularly
the learned social skills and character development
that accompany shooting sports.
A perfect example of the positive role of shooting
sports is Travis Mears of Burleson, Texas. This
19-year-old is a six-time NSCA All American and
was the youngest Gold Medallist ever at the ESPN
Great Outdoor Games. Travis is a scholarship shotgun
sports athlete at Lindenwood University in St
Charles. Missouri and was a high school member
of the National Honor Society. He began shooting
at age nine and has made it one of his life passions.
Already he's giving back to the sport by coaching
other youth and adults, and by speaking at schools
and clubs about what it takes to be successful.
