From
time immemorial, engraving is one of the most refined
and elegant techniques in the history of art. Beretta
has always personalized its luxury arms by engravings
of first-class technique and tradition, often handed
down from father to son. The skill of Brescian
engravers is well known all over the world as an
example of incomparable artistic creativity. The
engraving techniques can be various: from the oldest
one of the great maestros, the gold inlaying, to
the technique of hammer and tip used for bas-relief
and chasing or to the one – possibly better known – of burin,
mainly used in hunting scenes, which allows the
maestro engraver – through microlines and spots
– to achieve an absolute precision with a variety
of chiaroscuro effects. These engraving techniques
permit the realization of small works of art, which
turn each object into something unique.
There is also a large range of artistic typologies,
which can be realized also upon request: from the
floral styles to traditional hunting scenes, from
exotic themes to scenes of mythological inspiration
or with golden animals inlaid or engraved.
Beretta luxury guns are tangible examples of this
superfine art handed down for centuries, and they
allow tailoring of the customer’s gun or pistol
– often upon request – with original patterns,
expressly requested by the customer himself.
