It's a little pricey, but the looks are nice enough for this to be left out in the open, or better yet, bolted down to a table, or chained to something substantial. I have drills and punches that will pop a small rectangular hole in 10 gauge mild steel, so I can lag these to a table or even chain it to the floor, with the lock inside the box. Opening these is fast and easy enough that will a little practice anyone can have this open in the dark, even while under stress. The old Simplex locks work without batteries, so they are one of my favorite ways to lock up many things. Simplex IS life safety and security. From their old watchman's check station punch clocks, to the Simplex fire alarms, Simplex has been protecting people and their property for many decades. Beretta made a wise choice pairing up with a Simplex type locking system. Cry a little more now, than a lot more later. These also work well in vehicles where state laws mandate your guns be locked up while you travel.
