Yes, the waxed cotton is relatively free of odor, yet it retains the waxy feel and function you desire. It does a great job at stopping wind, and the quilted lining is very warm in freezing temps and below. Might be too warm for a true 3-season jacket, so call it 2.5. The color is several shades darker than pictured, closer a Mocha brown than a dark Tan. I don't know if the colors vary, or if it will lighten with age? Beretta jackets run a bit small, so if you're between sizes, go up. Also, the laundry tag on the coat doesn't say it, but if washing at home, they recommend no detergent to preserve the coating, or it can be dry cleaned. There actually are vertical hand warmer pockets above the bellows pockets. The idea is to cross your arms and slide your hands in the fleece lined pockets under your arm pits. Warm, but odd and restrictive. The ribbon that serves as shoulder straps to carry the jacket when it gets too warm is also odd, but buttons out. Comes with extra snaps and buttons.
