From Corpus Christi, Texas, Meagan Harrington began competing because she saw her brother compete, and knew she was missing out on all the fun. The way she talks about her favorite events shows her enthusiasm for the sport, “my favorite shoot of the year is Texas 4H State Shotgun Shoot. About 800+ members in the great state of Texas come together to compete and you get to see who comes out on top. I also have enjoyed NSSA, NSCA and ATA shoots. I love them all.”
Meagan shoots Skeet, Trap, International Skeet, Bunker Trap, Sporting Clays, 5-Stand, and FITASC. She uses a Beretta 692. Meagan has won the Texas Junior Ladies High Over All back to back, and the Texas Intermediate Ladies HOA. Meagan is also proud to say that she can keep up with the boys in co-ed competition as well! Her goal is to be a member of Team USA for the Olympics.
In addition to school, Meagan enjoys reading, playing the piano, running cross country, track, and playing soccer. And if her nickname of “Gunnie,” is any indication, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Meagan in the competition arena.
