The Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic
People often wonder what we in the industry take on our hunts. After all, we have a range of product at our disposal – product that we know intimately and that we see and handle every day, and product in which we deeply believe. Yet, in spite of the number of products available to us, our choice often falls on the same model over and over.
The Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic is a true winner in this regard. Why? Simple. Because it embodies all the qualities that have made Sako’s name a success story.
A tack-driver. The Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic lives up to Sako’s uncompromising demand for accuracy. It leaves the Riihimaki, Finland factory only after putting five shots into one inch or less at a hundred and ten yards. And such results have to be obtained by an individual shooting off a bench-rest, not a machine. This is the kind of accuracy that makes us confident that our first shot will be the “good one.”
No shooting in required. Thanks to the extremely strong steel of its cold-hammer-forged barrel, the Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic does not require shooting in. It is designed to be as good as it gets right out of the box. Its bore is already smooth as glass, and it always promises to offer a lifetime of enjoyable and accurate shooting.
Superb trigger. One of the best things about the Sako 75 is its trigger. It comes from the factory at a crisp 3lbs – truly the best factory trigger in the industry. Try and see for yourself. But it gets even better. If you want to make it lighter, you can do so easily and safely without even taking the barreled-action out of the stock. You can make the trigger as light as 2lbs: a clean, crisp, creep-free and (most importantly!) gimmick-free 2lbs.
Silky-smooth action. Operate a Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic bolt and you will “feel” all the great engineering that went into creating it. It will give you a sensation of strength, precision and smoothness. The one-piece bolt with three locking lugs and no-bind slots is what does the trick: this rifle’s operation will never feel anything less than pure perfection.
All-stainless construction. Unlike many “stainless” rifle out there, the Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic is as weatherproof as a rifle can possibly get. That’s because we are the only ones who make even the internal parts of the action stainless. So, if you are out on a weekend hunt and your Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic gets wet, you don’t have to worry. You can rest assured that your rifle will keep performing flawlessly. Naturally, though, when you make it home you should always follow proper maintenance tips.
Sure and comfortable grip. Your Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic will never feel cold or slippery, even in the most severe of weathers. The stock is molded in two stages: first, the general outline is made out of durable space-age polymers; then, soft rubber is poured into the hollows in the grip and fore-end area. This ensures the most comfortable of grips in all kinds of weather.
All-steel, double-stack magazine. The magazine of the Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic is detachable and can be loaded while inserted in the rifle. Furthermore, its two-stack construction gives it a higher capacity than most rifles on the market. This means that if you shoot a magnum caliber, you have five shots: four in the magazine and one in the chamber.
Safe. When it comes to safety, Sako does not compromise. The fool-proof two-position safety locks the bolt, the trigger and the firing pin. A separate bolt-release catch in front of the safety allows you to load and unload the rifle without taking the safety off.
All these characteristics (and more!) make the Sako 75 Stainless Synthetic a favorite among “industry insiders.” It is no wonder. Pick one up and find out what it feels like to hold and operate a true custom-grade rifle at a production price.
