The full-length Mannlicher stock does more than add to the beautiful aesthetics of this gun; to some degree, it helps with the overall balance when shot offhand, and perfectly compliments the fore-end's weight when teamed with the carbine's 20 inch barrel.
My heart stopped when I saw the wood on this gun, and I made it my personal Christmas gift this year, purchasing it from the Beretta Gallery in N.Y. City; arguably the best gun shop in the country, if not the world. The guys at the gallery's gun room are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, making the purchase of such a fine piece an easy sell.
I broke in the barrel at 50 yards, offhand shots alone, and managed to place 7 of my 20 shots into a 3 inch circle, with two nearly folded upon one another. The Bavarian Carbine is truly a Sako, and for me, it instantly became a classic fit!
