Review:

I've owned my Model 84 for 30 years........before it was called a Cheetah or any other designation. I chose it as a backup & off duty weapon, replacing a snub-nose .357 S&W. This weapon is so well built that after 30 years, I still shoot it regularly & carry when it's too hot in Texas for outerwear to conceal my Glock 23 or Beretta Px4 Storm.40 cal.
When I bought this weapon it was described in reviews as having a "garbage throat"; i.e. feeding all ammo flawlessly. They weren't wrong. I've literally tried to fire 3 rounds rapid fire and actually fired 5.
I love the .380 cal for several reasons. It's lighter to carry; smaller to conceal; same "size" bullet as a .9mm or .357 magnum, and therefore has some solid power. Check out the stats - 1550-2000 fps muzzle velocity and 330-500 ft lbs of knockdown.
I now own 2 Beretta's and will buy more as $$$ become available. I've compared the quality of build, shooting accuracy, feel, and design against 2 Kimber 1911's and one would think either of my factory built weapons was custom made.

Review:

Love this pistol. Recoil? None! Accuracy? Excellent! Noise and muzzzle blast? Negligible! Overall an excellent pistol. My wife was so impressed with it she even bought one for conceal carry. She normally shoots a .40 S&W and is able to keep them in the 9,10, and X ring but with this pistol she keeps them in the 10 and X ring (50 rounds) all the time. She doesn't have the years of experience shooting like I have but I'm impressed. I would highly recommend this pistol to any law abiding individual looking for a great conceal carry weapon or as a back up. Only one draw back though, its tight when you first get it but thats something that can be fixed by breaking it in with shooting and lubrication, something that needs to be done anyway.

I love this pistol it is great when you cannot pack the full size 92 concealed like during warm weather. This pistol fits great in a light coat or in your pocket or in a concealed holster. It is almost as accurate as the 92 but doesn't take up as much space either. Great pistol!!!

SWEETAH THAN A CHEETAH !

Review:

What a sweet compact pistol. Hands down, the most functional, reliable, sexy, melt in your hands carry handgun ever designed. It was my only choice in this caliber/pistol package. Everything from fit to function cannot be beat ! Very pleasant to shoot, accurate,mild,wow...tougher than nails, and life is too short to own anything less. I love my Cheetah 84FS. 13 rds. is plenty of firepower for any situation. I would highly recommend this to anybody for personal protection. .380 inadequate?? Better think again...I wouldn't want to stand in front of it..especially with today's superior ammo(Hornady 90gr critical defense)...ouch !

Painful recoil

Review:

The fit and finish on the Beretta 84FS Cheetah is beautiful. It has a great trigger.

I cannot get over the painful recoil this pistol develops. The .380 round is just too much for this platform. I own and shoot several Beretta 92 pistols with no such issues. The local range asked me to leave due to other patron complaining about the muzzle blast from my Beretta 84FS Cheetah.

Definitely a fight stopper, but no fun to shoot.

Wow!

Review:

I got a fairly large gun collection from my father-in-law and he gave me one of these with it. What a great gun. It does everything a nice handgun is supposed to do. It shoots well, feels good because of light recoil, and it looks sexy. Plus, I got a pocket holster and can use it with some pants. The only thing I can compare this to is my Taurus pt-738 and there really is no comparison except they are both handguns that shoot .380. Get one for your wife or your daughter or son in college. Oh and it's a lot of fun to shoot.

Beretta 84BB

Review:

I bought a model 84BB 15-20 years ago and never regretted it. The pistol has never fail except shooting 2nd rate amomnition. I shoot ball, FMJ and hollow points. My son can't wait to inherit it so he is going to buy an 84 or 85 model soon. The only thing I regretted was giving him my model 92FS made in Italy. I bought another 92FS made in the USA, but it doesn't look the as good.

The Rolls-Royce of .380 Pistols

Review:

The Beretta 84FS Cheetah is one of the most outstanding automatic pistols I have had the pleasure to shoot in 40 years of firearms ownership. The functioning is flawless; the solid construction really soaks up recoil making extended range sessions comfortable. Plus, it is a beautiful pistol in a sea of blocky black lookalikes.

Yes, it is more expensive than some other pistols of this type; a Rolls-Royce is expensive compared to other cars. But, like the Rolls, the Cheetah is worth the price.

I have also acquired the Beretta belt holster and the Beretta shoulder holster( this is not a pocket pistol) and can recommend them, as well.

Beretta 84F Cheetah

Review:

This is a great handgun! Having fired several rounds of ammunition through it, I found that even at 30 feet, it was extremely accurate. I've fired several different .380's and this was by far my personal favorite. It will be the one I will use for personal protection.
Even though this cost more than the competition, it is well worth the money spent.

OUTSTANDING choice for a .380 pistol.

Review:

This is my first and only choice in a .380 pistol.
Mine was 100% reliable in every way.
'was' because I traded it in on a Beretta Mini-Cougar 8040F, which fit into my strategy better at the time.
The 84FS was so nice to own, I truly regret having let it go. It fit perfectly for me and anyone I let shoot it, loved it.
My ammunition of choice was Remington Golden Saber 102-gr., with which it was very accurate.
This is, in my mind, the best of the best in a .380 ACP pistol.

Fairly Good Weapon

Review:

I have the nickel version. It's a nice looking gun and pretty accurate out of the box. I've fired different rounds through it including hollowpoints without it misfiring. Some people will question the power of a 380 but I feel shot placement is more important than all others. If it's in a vital area, no worries. There will be one less bad guy around. It's a good choice for personal protection.

Some changes are simply not needed

Review:

I understand the need to update firearms, and I'm a big fan of improving the overall grip. That said, this gets three stars for the unnecessary rail and the rounded trigger guard. They should add the grip and internal updates to the regular 92/96 series and call it a day. No rail, and keep the trigger guard squared.

Review:

The style, the feel, the smooth function, the accuracy are fantastic! Read the other reviews and you'll know I'm not even coming close to how sweet the 92A1 really is. If you don't believe me, well the first round you squeeze off will convince you far better than I can. I've had my dream pistol now for 6 months and every trip to the range has been golden. Thank you Pietro Beretta!

Review:

I bought this as my second firearm having owned a Beretta shotgun and knowing the brand and it's reputation for quality. For home defense and target range greatest ever. Low stress on hand from the low recoil, and perfect fit and balance even with it being a bit heavy than others on market.

Review:

Being a Tank Crewman in the US Army, the M9 pistol is our primary personal weapon. I'm very familiar with the system, and I love it. The improvements of of the 92A1 are even better. Firing this gun brand new, be sure to lubricate it good to break it in. Had a few problems with cycling before I lubricated it better, than I fired 150 rounds with no malfunctions.

Simply The Best

Review:

If you have had the opportunity to fire a lot of different handguns in the past and then fire this handgun then AND only then will you understand that this is the best OVERALL pistol out there. LOW recoil, balance, High capacity mags, accuracy, simple and easy break down to clean and construct, in my honest opinion this pistol is unmatched. Buy it and you will NOT be disappointed. I let my friends shoot it and they are already looking to buy one. 100% satisfied with my purchase.

Quality not the same as in the past.

Review:

I own an older 92FS Centurion and I recently bought this 92A1. The finish work on the 92A1 is no where close to the Centurion. On the 92A1, the magazine well has sharp corners and scratches the mags, the "beavertail" at the top of the rear grip strap has sharp edges on the ends and the trigger guard has sharp edges and even small burrs on the inside edges at the rear by the magazine release.
I am going to disassemble and polish the sharp edges before I shoot it so I don't get raw spots on my hands. Will post and update on how it functions. For a firearm of this price and name brand it is kind of disappointing to find this.

Review:

I own many firearms. As for 9mms, this is by far the best. I also own a 92FS, the two of them are pinnacle of 9mm pistols. More than 500 rounds through this firearm and I've yet to have a single issue. Honestly shocked, as I was a Glock carrier before. Now if Beretta would produce a 10MM, you'd have all my business :)

Worth it and exceeded expectation

Review:

I read a lot of whining about this pistol when the US army switched from the 1911 to the 92.

Did my own research and bought the 92A1. Its accuracy at longer distances is phenomenal and exceeded my expectations. Beretta should keep this strength up because it clearly differentiate itself from other competitors in the market. In terms of accuracy, it is day and night when comparing it to the S&W M&P9.

Needless to say, I also like the smoothness when I rack the slide and the take-down was very simple and easy.

And, of course, the 92 is a beautiful gun. Not many peers can compete in this category.

Excellent design and execution in production of this pistol! Well done, Beretta team!

Good Buy

Review:

I purchased this gun on 3/17/12. works like a dream!!!! One of my biggest nit picks about any handgun is hot brass flying in my face. This one does not do that. It ejects at almost a 90 degree angle. Put 250 rds. on first trip to the range. No malfunctions at all, and has very low recoil. Can shoot this gun all day.

Just as expected plus a little

Review:

Being military I'm used to the M9. I finally decided to treat myself to a Beretta of my own. This weapon exceeds expectations. It seems a little smoother than my issued M9. Absolutely shoots like a dream. Maybe because it's just a little bit heavier. If you are looking for a good open carry (little large to conceal but it can be done) or a home defense weapon, this is the one. The safety features on the 90 series pistols are fantastic. you can carry this thing hammer forward and safety off with a round chambered and never have to worry about an AD. Absolutely love it!

Phenomenal pistol... zero problems, very accurate

Review:

I love this pistol. 503 rounds through mine so far and not a single FTF or FTE yet. I would certainly trust my life to this, so it will serve its purpose well as a home defense weapon. Recoil is very modest, accuracy is excellent, and the build quality is superb. I'm a Beretta fan for life. This was my first Beretta, but certainly not my last.

Tried and True Reliability

Review:

If you believe like I do that you should be able to take a pistol straight out of the box, load it, and fire 200+ rounds without a stoppage then the 92A1 is the one to chose! After using the M9 while in the military I had high expectations for the newest 92 series Beretta. It exceeded my expectations. Easy to assemble/disassemble, like the assc. rail, and it is just darn accurate out of the box. Only change I am planning is adding Trijcon night sights and I believe I will have the perfect home defense weapon for the money.

Greatest handgun ever made !

Review:

But, after about 200 rounds I had to send it back for repair.
The trigger malfunctions.
It will not shoot.
Used to own a 92FS and never had a problem with it.
Also own a PX4 Storm and love it. Have put 1000's of rounds thru it with no problems.
Thats why I only gave it 4 stars. I know, when it is fixed, it will last a lifetime.

A Truly Outstanding Weapon

Review:

I recently purchased a brand new 92A1 pistol, and it surpassed every expectation I had. I have military experience so I was inclined to choose Beretta for my first pistol, and the 92A1 seemed like the perfect choice.
The 17+1 capacity is incredible; the two extra rounds provide a little more peace of mind than the original M9's 15+1.
I have not yet used the front-mounted accessory rail, but it adds a small amount of forward weight to counterbalance the rear weight of two extra rounds. The 92A1 is naturally heavier than the traditional M9 I was used to, but its balance is just right and it sits comfortably in my hands.
The new recoil reduction system is unbelievable. I'm consistantly impressed by the 92A1's singular lack of recoil every time I shoot. The weapon is exceedingly accurate, even in the hands of a novice shooter. I've since used the weapon to teach a first-time shooter who was putting rounds through the X-ring in no time.
Obviously this is a full-sized weapon, so concealment can be difficult, especially in hot climates. However, there's no trading the peace of mind of a Beretta at your disposal.
I would recommend this weapon to any Beretta-familiar person who doesn't mind a large, heavy weapon. I've added Beretta Wood Grips (Stock # JG92FSW) which put this weapon over the top.
I wouldn't hesitate to carry this pistol into battle. I'm totally satisfied with this purchase, and I'm confident that the 92A1 will be my sidearm of choice for the forseeable future.

Thoroughly Satisfied

Review:

This was my first handgun purchase after a recommendation from a trusted friend to check out Beretta. I chose the 92A1 as I thought 9mm would be a great choice to start with and I liked the idea of the rail for future accessories, the 17 round mags and the aesthetics. I also put on a set of the E00219 grips which are slightly larger than the stock grips and make the pistol feel even better. Despite my novice status I find the gun exceedingly easy to control and have been very pleasantly surprised by the accuracy I've been able to attain. It is a joy to shoot and I am completely satisfied with the 92A1 in every way.

Right on Target

Review:

Six months ago I began testing a variety of handguns with the goal of buying one. Many gun range clerks tried to talk me into buying a competitor made out of high-tech plastic. Nothing wrong with that gun. But there is one big difference between it and the Beretta 92(FS and A1): The Beretta is more accurate. The Beretta is more accurate because it absorbs the recoil better, and it absorbs the recoil better because it is all metal and heavier. But another important factor in accuracy, at least for me, is that the Beretta is better balanced. Feels like it was made for my hands, and I have small hands for a man. I decided to purchase the 92A1 instead of the FS because I like the new features and options (adding a light or laser or new sights), and it's extremely easy to take apart for cleaning. I shot 200 rounds through it on the first day I got it. Worked like a charm. I highly recommend the 92A1 for the first-time buyer, especially because it has more safety options than other handguns.

A new favorite...

Review:

I'm still working on a full review, but all of my first impressions get very high marks. The evolved frame with the classic 9x Series grip is a true winner. Fit and finish are superb, and it will accept almost all of the usual grip options like LaserGrips and rubber wraparounds work, and now there's an accessory rail.

My last range trip, I put it through the wringer. I shot it at every angle I could safely try, and tried to cause a malfunction by holding the pistol extremely loosely and with some rapid fire, but it performed flawlessly.

My range targets really tell the whole story though. I will post photos in my full review and comparison on The Beretta Forum. The

Looking Good So Far

Review:

I was ready to buy the Sig, but I think this thing beats it in a lot of ways. It is light without feeling cheap - it seems very solidly built, better than any of the other .22 clones I've looked at. Controls are excellent, field stripping is a breeze, the balance is excellent, there is plenty of rail space. The barrel is solid and not some cheesy thin shrouded barrel like some of the others out there. If you are looking at either the Sig or the M&P, you should definitely check this out before buying either of them.

Best little tactical fun gun

Review:

I have this ARX160, a Ruger 10/22 with a tactical stock upgrade and a GSG-522(22LR). I compared them all this past weekend at the range and the ARX160 was the most accurate, the funnest to shoot, absolutely NO jams. It was also the easiest clip to reload and has more places to put attachments. This also got the most looks from others. I love this. Great workmanship and mechanically it is sound. Very accurate and fun to shoot.

Good rifle.

Review:

The rifle is good except for the charging handle. The handle should have a wider finger pull area. The narrow handle is a bit uncomfortable. I fear the charging handle may break over time. Additionally, I scrape my fingers on one if the loops/bumps on the side of the rifle behind the ejection hole when pulling the charging handle. From an engineering point of view it should be an easy fix/modification. Other than this issue, it is definitely a fun rifle that looks really cool.

U22 Neos Inox

Review:

Purchased one from local sporting goods store and I love it. The only reason I don't give it a 5 Star is the grip is made for smaller hands. I have the 6"SS barrel with blue and black grip. Sighted in in 10 rounds and started shooting bulls eye right out of the box. I find mine more accurate with the round nose bullet. 1" Bulls eyes at 30'. Shot about 500 rounds through it in 2 weeks and not one jam. Seems a little louder than others I guess that's because it exhausts out both sides when ejecting. My db meter show 77db which is only 12Db above conversation level. Still use head gear for protection. Easy to break down and clean. An all around great gun. would recommend to anyone.

My wife and I bought one of these through Cabela's so we'd have smaller caliber target gun, you know...cheaper ammo? Anyway, this turned out to be a serious precision shooter. You can drive tacks with this hand gun. I would recommend the Neos Inox to anyone for a great shooting and feeling pistol. I just took this new Neos to the range and right out of the box I was shooting bulls eyes at 30 feet.

Then I put on a red dot sight and after some adjustments to the red dot I was shooting bulls eyes at 50 feet with greater speed.

This is a fun gun for target shooting.

Loved It

Review:

My gun dealer showed me this when it came in and I loved the look while I was also looking for a good target pistol. The top rail is perfect for any sized scope. I mounted a red-dot and must6 say, it among my most favorite on the range. Easy to break down and easy to maintain.
Best of all, it just looks cool!

quality shooting at affordable prices

Review:

3rd beretta I've ever purchased. Pictures online do not do it justice, the two tone is much more metallic and is truley gorgeous. Grip is rediculously comfortable for the big handed like myself and those of a small handed nature like my girlfriend. I've cycled 300 rounds through this gun with not even a hint of a problem. Be sure to keep it clean because carbon builds up in a hurry. Without a doubt another quality handgun from my personal favorite weapon manufacturer. Happy Shooting

Beats Buckmark and Ruger

Review:

i am now a proud owner of this gun and I was very suprised to see just how well it handled and how accurate it is. I have owned a buckmark and I also own a Ruger Mark 11 with the bull barrel and competition trigger and Im thinking about selling it to buy another NEOS! the only (con) is the neos needs more customizable options. LOVE the pistol not as fast as the Ruger but definetly more accurate.

This is a great gun and very accurate. I have the 7 1/2" barrel on mine and it shoots and points very naturally. Never failed to feed or fire and I have shot hundreds of rounds thru it. I would like to buy a 4 1/2" barrel to be able to change things up a bit.

soild gun, with great price

Review:

I have owned my 682 Gold E for several years. I bought it preowned and it has a feeling between the hands that can only be decribed as the "beretta feel". The 682 is built to be rebuilt over and over for a long time of clays crushing. Where other guns after so long just plain wear out and have to be replaced. This is why I would say it has great value as a solid competition gun.

New 682 Gold E Sporting

Review:

I bought my new 682 Gold E for Sporting Clays tournaments and I couldn't be happier. As a long term Beretta Rifle and Pistol shooter I naturally selected Beretta when the need arose for a quality over & under. I haven't been disappointed.

This gun is well balanced, solid, elegant, and pretty. What more could one ask for? While new to shotgun competition, my scores are getting better each time I compete, and I know the equipment is a big part of that. This is one my Grandson will be proud to inherit.

Solid performer

Review:

As a novice sporting clays shooter, I love this gun because I know it will help accelerate my progress in the sport.

It is solid, well balanced, lively (but not whippy), and just plain feels good. It's not bad to look at either.

The only issue I have with the gun is that a small amount of rust accumulates where the bottom barrel fits into the monobloc.

All in all, it's a great shotgun - one that will last a lifetime and then some.

As a competetive skeet shooter, I have owned several O/Us but have found that the 682 Gold E is the most reliable gun for the hard shooting that I do. I have put approximately 15000 rounds through mine without so much as a glitch.
Points well and very comfortable!

Review:

I can't believe we have the exact same thing for history of this gun. I also owned my 85F for 20 years but my scrapes (minor) are on the back strap. I fire 1,000's of rounds through it and I do carry other guns BUT!! This was on my hip for most of those 20 years and I would trust my life with it. NEVER a jam of any kind. The spring slams them in there and the recoil is minor. I love this gun and it will be handed down. My only regret is that years ago I found a used but in super mint condition 85 in polished nickle finish with beautiful wood grips, in 32 ACP and 13 round (or was it 12?) and like a dummy, I wanted a gig gun and traded it for an Essig Arms 1911 45, which fell apart when shooting it. I was just thinking about the 32 today. Whaaaa, as I kick myself in the rear end! This 380 is an extremely well built hand gun which I also use Hydra Shocks in. Not quite a 9mm BUTT, don't worry..you'll drop someone if need be. I had to 6 years ago. Not a good feeling but, I refuse to die over 10 bucks in my wallet! Buy this...you absolutely will NOT regret it! It's a great investment. Thanks for reading.

an aged perspective

Review:

The earlier reviews are not hype. Mine is a model 85F in nickel.I purchased it new approximately 20 years ago and have had no issues, not one single jam. I mainly use Federal Hydra-shok JHP but have fired many different brands. It has not been a safe queen either I have carried this gun more than any other I own. It has been under car and truck seats, in bad weather, rubbed on, tossed around, not babied by any means. The only complaint I could have is some of the finish has chipped off around the groves on the front of the trigger guard and on the rear of the frame, it's personality really it resembles Cheetah spots. I am 1000% satisfied with this gun and am pleased to have owned it.

Excellent pocket pistol

Review:

I purchased this weapon used a few months ago.

With ball ammunition it works flawlessly and up to 25 feet I can simply think where I want the round to hit. Great in the hands, easy to conceal, extremely accurate.

Only 1 thing keeps this from being a 5: it will not shoot hollow-points. Jams 100% of the time with them. I guess that is why it was for sale used.

I carry it with ball ammunition and enjoy shooting it on a regular basis.

I have owned the Nickle version of this gun for 4 years. It is the handsomest gun in my collection and one of the funnest to shoot. My 12 year old son enjoys it also. Very dependable, accurate and easy to clean.
Only draw back is the slide is very stiff. Would be hard for an a woman or youth to cock. I have watched this gun increase dramatically in value over the past few years and easily could have sold it for a profit on many occasions!

Review:

I've owned this gun for about 3 months now. I've put about 2500 rounds through it. With the shims and recoil pads that come with the gun I was able to fit it better than any other gun i own. Its a joy to shoot but it still won't cycle 1150fps 7.5 shot rounds without a stovepipe frequently. Also the Fast Bolt Release is terrible. I installed it and it wouldn't stay in position over the bolt release button in my house just testing it out. No way I was going to take it to the field. I purchased one from after market for way more than I wanted to. I wish Beretta put more time into this feature.

Just out at the range with my new U22 Neos and really enjoyed it. Having 3 pistols in 22, I have to say this is the most enjoyable to shoot. Put about 100 rounds threw it on the first outing and did not have any jams or problems. This is the first Beretta I have own and I am really pleased with the accuracy of the U22. I have given it 5 stars. First for the accuracy, second the price and third is very easy to take apart and clean.

Best target .22 for the money, Period!

Review:

I bought the six inch barreled Neos a couple of weeks ago. I enjoy shooting pistols at targets and plinking, but I am not very good with a pistol. This pistol will not only run on any .22lr ammo (I shot 5 different kinds - CCI standard, Winchester Wildcat, CCI Mini mags, winchester bulk, and winchester super X) but it made me look like an expert at the range. Everything functioned and shot flawlessly. I am VERY impressed with the performance of this pistol. I had to try to make the groups larger than 3 inches. I can't wait for the 4 inch barrels to come in so I can get that so my wife and son will be able to shoot easier; the six inch barrel is a little top heavy, but Man is this pistol accurate!

The only thing I found was the black front sight was hard to sight. I am thinking of putting a little white pant on it and see if that helps.

Great Shooter

Review:

I've been looking for a fun .22 shooter that's accurate and dependable enough to use to shoot steel and some paper. I am an amateur competitor, but I've only shot .45 and revolver. I've always wanted a good .22, and I know I've got it.

I took it out today after giving it a good cleaning, and I put about 250 rounds through it without a hitch. I didn't put it on paper. Instead, I went right to steel. I've got to tell you that this little pistol is not only a blast, but it's doggone accurate! I didn't have an issue with the trigger, jamming, etc. I put a cheap round through it, and it ate it up! I'm ordering some nicer target ammo tonight and hope to even get better results. For now, though, I know I'll have more fun using this than my 1911!

Disappointing Performance

Review:

I was looking for a .22 pistol that would be comfortable for my adult daughter and fun to shoot. Its also made in my home town. My first trip to the range was very disappointing. Using Remington Golden bullet 555 value pack, and some CCI minimags I could not fire a single clip without a malfunction. The failures consisted solely in what appeared to be a firing pin issue. The rounds were chambered then just "click".
Indicator shows empty chamber condition. Open action, remove round, and notice no mark on the rim. Fired a few more rounds then the same "click'. Also experienced trigger pull and no firing pin movement. (safety off). So I took it home cleaned it real good. (Also gashed my thumb on an exposed pin holding the rail in place.)
Got everything moving real smooth, took it back to the range with CCI Velocitors. Fired 50 rounds without a hitch, then the minimags and remingtons started acting up again. Firing pin drops, "click". Needless to say I still haven't got it properly sighted in. I've got one more trip to the range with the hottest .22 ammo I can find. If this solves the problem I will be willing to raise my rating. Also the trigger pull is very creepy and is not conducive to accurate shooting. I hope the ammo will solve the problem as I am not looking forward to a warranty return.

Accurate and Fun!

Review:

I bought this gun to compete in steel challenge matches. It’s cheaper to shoot this 22LR than my 9mm. The Neos is very accurate and very reliable. I have already put 1000's of rounds through it, and I have only had a few jams and a couple FTF. That's probably because of the cheap ammo I was using and the fact that I hadn’t cleaned it in a while. I have noticed that this gun likes ANY brand of ammo. I put a red dot TruGlo sight on it, and WOW!, talk about FUN! Now the only problem is my wife loves this gun so much, she's claimed it as hers! She's even going to be competing with me in the steel challenge. The gun is simple to strip and clean. Beretta customer service is great and they take care of their customers. This is a great gun if you want to have hours of fun at the range.

Don't like sights

Review:

I bought a Neo with the 6" barrel, primarily so my kids can have a nice plinker with which to learn marksmanship. Like all other reviewers, I love its feel in my hand, reliability of function, and ease of breakdown for cleaning. I know my kids will like the gentle recoil. Fabulous design. My complaint is with the matte black sights fore and aft. I am confident that they would be fine outdoors or at a well lighted indoor range. They are poor at my indoor range where the target is adequately illuminated but the shooter positions are a little dim. Basically, the shooter must search for that hairline of light between the front sight's silhouette and either side of the rear sight and make both gaps equal, because the only thing you see sighting down the pistol is BLACK ON BLACK. Since nobody makes a fiber optic sight for the Neo, I am investigating having a gunsmith dovetail out a channel to put in a fiber optic sight made for another model. Beretta had the good sense to put a TruGlo front sight on the carbine kit. Why did they not have equally good sense on the pistol is beyond me. My Ruger MkIII, with its HiViz front sight, is vastly easier to acquire the bullseye.

Great way to re-enter shooting community

Review:

The last time I shot a Beretta was when I was stationed at Phan Range, Vietnam, with the US Air Force. We had a couple in the squadron armory that could be checked out when we were in need of a personal weapon for off-base excursions. Zoom forward 39 years, and my son helps me re-kindle my interest in shooting, as a sport this time. Fire his weapons - he loves the big boomers: 40's and 44's. But that's way too much money to invest when you're just getting re-started.

Enter the U-22 Neos. Though it kinda looks "Buck Rogers", it's relatively inexpensive in the class, and Cabela's had 'em for a discount from MSRP. Feits my big paw like it was made for it. Good balance. Simple mechanics and easy to break down and clean (and if there's one thing that I learned about firearms in the service, is to keep the things cleaned because it can mean your life!), and, of course, the ammo is nicely inexpensive.

Since acquiring it just a week ago, I've been to the range three times and have put about 500 rounds though my U-22 now. The only FTF (Fail to Feed) I have had have been with .22 Long - not .22 Long Rifle. The clerk said they were interchangeable, but apparently not. With .22LR, nary a problem with any of 6 different loads (CCI, Remington, and Federal) that I've tried. The sights seem to have been dead-on, so I haven't mucked with them at all. The results are very respectable, considering my lack of practice, and, I'm getting better.

So, if you're looking for a small calibre target/plinking/small game gun, I think you'd be very happy with the U-22. I know I am.

Review:

I had been considering buying a Ruger for a couple weeks as a few of my friends have them and they are very reliable. I went to my local gun shop to see what they had available and saw this. Just holding the two I fell in love with the Neos. Bought it and went directly to the range and ran 100 rounds through it, worked perfectly right out of the box. Can't say how pleased I am with my purchase. Very comfortable, very accurate, cleaning isn't too bad once you get it apart. All in all, best bang for the buck and in my opinion the best 22 plinker out there for under $300.

Review:

I purchased this gun about three months ago with the idea to use it for “Take 5 Rimfire” matches. I was at that time using a Ruger product at shooting only cowboy action. After taking the Neos out and shooting some paper I decided to give it a try at the next Rimfire match. I am very glad I did, this gun performed very well right out of the box. I am very pleased with this gun and am considering purchasing another with the carbine kit to replace my Luger 10-22. I am also considering using it at the next Ruger completion in November. I am so happy with the performance of this little gun and its handling. I just wished Berretta would package the carbine kit with a 4.5 Neos. See you at the range.

I love my U22. I have fired more than 500 rounds through it with out any issues jamming.

The only issue I have with the gun is the rear sight. I would rather have fixed.
My rear sight adjustment just falls out during shooting. I fixed this with lock-tight but that defeats the purpose of having an adjustable sight

I would give this 4.8 stars if that was an option.

It has put a bunch of rabbits in the pot. I'm giving this one to my son, and buying another one for myself. And you know, you don't give your kids junk!

U22 Neos (Done)

Review:

I have this gun in a 6 inch barrel. It has performed very well with as few as one failure to cycle every hundred rounds. Have tried different brands of 22LR and does not seem to be very picky.

The only complaint I have is the quality of the rear sight blade. It is a very simple piece of plastic that slides into a spring loaded holder. Nothing wrong with that. The complaint is related to the quality of the component. It has a rectangular notch that is the sighting notch with a white line painted around the notch for visibility. This line is not properly aligned with the notch and this affects the effectiveness of the rear sight. Not a big deal, but an important component of the shooting experience that should not be overlooked.

It does come apart easily for cleaning and that is a plus compared to other 22LR pistols.

I shoot compatition and for years have used a High Standard for the rimfire matches. I happened across this Neos and it caught my eye so I purchased it. I was at a match and both my High Standards crapped out but I had brought the neos to try out after the match. I was so surprised, right out of the box it shot great. After a few alignment shots it was preforming as good as my customized high standards. I took 3rd. Cant say enough about this gun. For plinking, targets etc a great value with Beretta's high quality and engineering.

Dependable Performance

Review:

I had a nice Sporting Clays O/U sitting in the safe collecting dust this summer. I decided it was time to upgrade my duck gun. My clays gun was worth enough in trade that I could have chose any of the higher end autos. I picked up the A400 and it fit like a glove and the swing was smooth as silk. I did the trade and also received two flats of shells with the trade. One flat of 3" Steel #3's and a flat of 2 3/4 #5's. I have used both flats (500 rds) without a single malfunction. The last duck hunt of the season for me was a miserably cold day. The air temp was 17 degrees with 15mph winds. I was knocking the ice off the brass end of my shells to load the gun. It shot like a champ and never malfunctioned. There is no real recoil. In fact my 11 year old son shot a round of skeet out at the gun club with it and fell in love with it.

Review:

I got this gun just before bird season started this year. Its a GREAT gun! The felt recoil will make all other guns feel like hammers. I have had some issues with it cycling 3.5" shells in the Goose pit, but Beretta fixed that for me. It now cycles the heavy duck and goose loads, as well as the Dove loads. I would give it 5 stars, but since I had issues at first with the 3.5" shells I gave it 4. This gun is my first Beretta, but it probably wont be my last.

Corrected POA

Review:

My Extreme 26" has a soft feel to the hands and the shoulder. However, having shot the other "B" guns for years, I was not hitting birds very hard. After finding the POA to be about 80/20 to my 5'9", 200 lbs frame, I made the following adjustments: Lowered the stock to the most drop. Removed spacers to 14" pull. Replaced the front sight with a Magnetic Front Sight which was .080 higher. Result is POA of 50/50. This has been the worst duck season in years but now one shot equals one duck for my dog to retrieve. It is now shooting where I am looking. Great gun!

I have limited income, but wanted a gun i could #1 Depend on for years to come and #2 be proud of. I have truly found that. I researched all the major 3.5" SA guns on the market today and finally "pulled the trigger" on the A400. I can honestly say that it was love at first sight. I shot a full round of sporting clays on the same day I picked her up, and never missed a beat. I've fun 600 rounds through it and so far so good. Glad to know that I've finally got a gun I can depend on for many years to come.

Fails to Cycle in Rain

Review:

I've been a Beretta fanatic for years. I have 3 Beretta semi-autos. I never thought I'd forego my original Beretta Extrema 1, but then the A400 came out. I hunt in a very wet climate with a lot of rain and needed a die-hard duck gun. This is not it. While it is the best shouldering, softest recoil, semi-auto I've ever shot, it becomes a single-shot in the rain. I clean my guns thoroughly after every use, so it is not due to gumming or fouling from being dirty. It is simply a wetness factor. Whenever it gets wet, it will not cycle shells. I'm considering selling this and going back to my Extrema.

The best ever shouldered

Review:

I have a ton of friends that all about Benelli, and said I was stupid for spending this much on anything but a Benelli. We shot 1.5 cases through it this weekend and they are all in love and saving for an A400 Xtreme now - Benelli makes a good gun, the Xtreme is the only way to go. After that shoot - this past weekend, my boss bought an Xtreme and a friend ordered an Xplor. This is by far the best gun I have ever shouldered. The Kick-Off Mega made a 3.5" shell feel like 2.75" light load in an 870. I recomend this gun to anybody as picky as I am that will only settle for the best.

Pretty Sweet Gun

Review:

Ordered this baby from my local dealer in Texas. Took it to Nebraska for the holidays and a little late season duck poundin. Recoil is almost zero, gun cycles very efficiently with all ammunition, did have one jam with a 3 1/2" shell but i didn't break in the gun with 2 3/4" shells first as in the user manual. After one box of shells I wobbled many ducks but couldn't drop them. This gun shoots differently than my old Remmington 870. It appears you need to put the bead under the target slightly with this gun. All family members and friends that I let shoot it loved it and my 11 year old cousin told me he wanted to steal it :) I'll do some patterning and see how this gun handles, but so far, I LOVE IT!! Now I just have to learn how to shoot it! :) Great Job Beretta!! This is my first gun of your line and I'm very happy that I put up the extra cash. Cheers, Daniel.

I just traded my Vinci for the new A400 Xtreme. It is the nicest shooting autoloader I have ever shot. It is the same size as my Teknys and about 1/2 lb lighter. Moving the kick off system forward really is a great improvement. It feel and shoots like my Teknys and does not feel overly heavy like the Extrema. Definitely the finest duck gun on the market. I shoot thousands of rounds each year in sporting clays and this gun feels as good as most competition guns with all the advantages needed for duck/goose hunting. I really like the wider stock which for me fits perfectly right out of the box. Superb firearm!

Would be 5...

Review:

Love this gun! Not too big for ccw. Side by side with XDm compact, pretty much the same size even though the PX4 holds 2 more rounds. Looks better and priced better imo. Recoil with the 3.2" rotating barrel is no worse than a standard full size 9mm. My only issue with it is that no one makes a spacer to fill in the gap on the 17/20 round mags. Fixed that by purchasing the one for the sc and using a rotary dremel. Would be 5 stars if I didn't have to customize my own accessories.

PX4 Storm 9MM

Review:

My first center fire handgun. Wasn't easy to learn reassembly, but after a few hours now it's as easy changing cartridges in my printer. I've shot over 500 rounds, the only malfunctions were my fault by trying to ease the slide when chambering the first round and some bad reloads that didn't fire. Of 5 different manufactured loads no missfires. Easy to operate, either hand. I would recommend the Storm for anyone new to handgunning with the caveat that field stripping and reassembly be practiced a few times before one leaves the sales establishment.

Great little gun, bad magazine options

Review:

Love this gun. I have a .40 96FS and have always liked the Beretta style. This little gun is a dream to fire and I like the look better than SA XDm 9mm and it fires equally as well (plus has decock/safety if that is what you want...I do).

My main complaint, and what limits it from getting 5 stars, is that this compact can "use" the standard 17rd PX4 frame mags, but it has about a 1" gap then, and my hand just SCREAMS for a little additional hold. The 17rd mags are perfect, but they don't offer a "rubber spacer" to make the 17rd std mags fit flush (they have something for the sub-compact to use the 17rd STD, but that won't fit the gap here).

Also, anyone considering this, get the 20rd std grip/mag extension, as it will ALSO work on the stock compact 15's to add 3 additional rounds...just sucks to have to buy new 15rd mags and then pay ANOTHER $21 for mag extension...and my 17rd STD frame mags are useless without rubber gap fill.

I think it needs warranty work

Review:

First off, the gun is less than three weeks old. It feels good in the hand and shoots well. I have two problems however. The first problem is with the decocking lever. It is easy to engage but very hard to disengage. I have shot about 600 rounds through the pistol and have cycled the decocker several hundred times. It is still stiff. I let a 6'4" Marine try the pistol and the only comment he had was that the "safety is real stiff". In fact. the PX4 compact versions on display in the stores are much easier to disengage. I noticed that the decocking lever is wearing against the side of the slide on the right side. I don't know if that is the source of the resistance or not. The second problem has to do with the Loaded Chamber Indicator. When the pistol was new, the lever stuck out so you could see the red paint when a round was in the chamber. After one day of firing the pistol, the lever barely sticks out when a round is in the chamber. You do not see any red paint because the lever is almost flush with the slide when a round is in the chamber. It now sticks out about two hair widths. Other than these two items, I like the pistol.

smooth and accuate

Review:

I purchased the PX 4 Storm compact in 9mm shortly after it was released. Out of the box it experienced chronic jams. Beretta replaced the recoil spring with an upgraded version under warranty. Since then there hasn’t been a single jam with several thousand rounds fired. This is my carry weapon and I find it comfortable with both a pancake and inside the waistband holsters. The different size backstraps are a plus. I would recommend this weapon for anyone looking for single and double action in one platform.
I also own a 92F which I love. I was surprised that the PX4 had equal to or less recoil then the 92. The accuracy is equal even with a shorter barrel.
I would recommend that Beretta upgrade the PX4 product line with night sights and adjustable sights that do not require a $130.00 adjustment tool.

Love it... BUT...

Review:

This is the one of the best compacts I have ever fired. I offer this to many students that have never shot before and they love the feel and the accuracy. But those that move past the punching paper to the tactical aspect of shooting will find that the safety/decocker lever will bite you consistantly on any fast slide pulls in any hand on slide positions. I think they know this and offer a "G" model for law enforcement and gov't agencies with out it. But I think you as a consumer should be aware of this also. Beretta, shave the lever down or offer an aftermarket less painfull accessory.

I layawayed this piece for two months after considering a Hi Point, Kel Tec, and a Ruger. The craftsmanship is superior to all of them and the price was right. I love the capacity, the safety/decocker, not needing a magazine extension to get all your finges on the grip, and the rotating barrel. The only minor gripe is that this gun doesn't have tritium sights for low light situations. This is going to be at least a $200 upgrade. Other than that, this is a capable piece of excellent quality. I will definately buy another Beretta.

Very impressive

Review:

I have been shooting for 40 years, and have owned quite a variety of handguns. The PX4 Compact has impressed me greatly with its accuracy and reliability, and it shoots as soft as any 9 mm pistol I have ever shot. As remarkable as it may seem, this pistol has no more recoil than my 92FS, although it is considerably lighter and smaller. (I presume this to be due to the rotating barrel system; if so, it is a stroke of genius to incorporate it into a pistol.) I would recommend this pistol to anyone who is interested in a mid-sized 9mm with a thumb safety. Beretta pistols are always well designed and made with a high level of craftsmanship, and the PX4 is no exception. Beretta quality paired with a modest price makes this pistol an exceptional value.

I don't 40 cal listed yet under the compact series but wow what a great new firearm. I was going to wait for a full size model but I was lucky to come across someone at the range with one and he let me try it. Recoil was greatly manageable and accuracy was splendid. Did not know of the compact model. I was sold on it and left the range with one that day. I had been looking for a carry 40 and have tried 3 other major brands models and was not satisfied. I carry using a Don Hume inside pants belt holster and it was very comfy. Especially while driving and bending over. Great job Beretta.

Awesome... Gotta get used to it, though.

Review:

Initially, I experienced some of the stove piping and mis-feed issues some others have complained about for this model (during the first 250 rounds or so). I was using crappy ammo and had too small of a back strap installed, i.e., I was limp-wristing it. I also changed my grip to allow for maximum contact area between my hands and the grip (as opposed to the thumb-over-thumb method). Trust me... I'm working on my PhD in mechanical engineering. This is kind of my thing. After thinking about my previous grip and the associated kinetics/kinematics, I wasn't allowing for proper slide movement with my grip. Also, I upgraded to better ammo and changed to the largest back strap (which promotes absorption of more kinetic energy into the viscoelastic tissues in your hand while allowing for the full range of motion of the slide) and I haven't had an issue in well over 1000 rounds. I would trust my life to this weapon.

this gun is the best pistol i have ever shot. i have had it for 10 months, put about 2000 rds thru it of all kinds and never have had a single jam. i have big hands and it fits perfectly w/ the large backstrap i can't think of any gun in this price range that comes close. it is my carry gun and i am 100% sure if i need to pull the trigger it's going to fire. i would note that cleanliness is godliness, but i'm sure this gun would be fine even if i didn't keep it pristine. just like alot of people comment on the range-it's a beretta it'll last forever! i reccomend this gun to anyone novice or pro-you will never be disappointed. only problem is once you have one, then you will then want a nano and a px4 sub-compact! thanks beretta after all these years while some have cheapened things up to save cash, pietro's spirit still commands you to make the best! chao.

Got me hooked

Review:

Bought my px4 storm compact yesterday, took it to the range today. First use more expensive ammo, no problems. Used cheap ammo, 25 bucks for 100 rounds, no problems. Put 140 rounds through without any problems. No stray shots, no jams, very accurate at 15 yards. Nothing outside of 9 on concentrated shots. I've taken handgun courses, and rented handguns, but this is my first to own. Great feel, low low recoil, doesn't jam with cheap ammo. Gotta keep it clean tho. Great gun, probably stick with beretta for a while.

Very Nice, now.

Review:

I purchased the PX4 Compact in 9MM as a carry weapon about a month ago. First impression at the range was disappointing. The gun would misfeed almost every round. I called the store where I bought it and spoke to the gunsmith. He explained that the recoil spring might be too stiff and that Beretta had a web page to order a new one. I thought that would be an easy fix to the problem so I went to Beretta's website to look.

More disappointment - according to the website, my serial number indicated that my gun did not have a problem! With no apparent way to contact Beretta directly, I resorted to call back my gunsmith. After some conference, he suggested leaving the gun locked in the open position for several days, followed up with a switch to a different brand of ammo. I did both. The result was much improved. Only one misfeed in 50 rounds. Since then, I have looked into several different brands of ammo and am getting mixed results. My gun apparently prefers a slightly hotter load, for some reason. Perhaps in time, the spring will loosen up a bit and I'll be able to shoot target loads with it.

My overall impression so far is very favorable. The gun has low recoil, is comfortable to hold and conceals well. It would have gotten 5 stars if not for the initial hassles.

Review:

I originally purchased a PX4 Strom .40 Full Size, I loved it so much I investigated the other PX4 models. I read so many good things about the PX4 Storm 9MM Compact I purchased one the other day. It lived up to absolutely every accolade given it. The gun shoots better than any pistol I own and am now spoiled to shoot anything thing else. It never misfired or malfuntoned in any way, had less preceived kick and shot like a dream. Thanks Beretta for a job well done! Keep up the good work!

Flawless in form and function!

Review:

I recently completed my 9MM Storm collection with a PX4 Compact. I now own the SC, C, and Full-Size, as well as the Carbine CX4.

Now I will tell you that I truly never set out to own one of each. But after buying my first---the Full-Size---I just couldn't help myself. The design (shape, size, capacity, feel in the hand, etc.) is absolutely perfect. I especially appreciate the ability to load the pistol and rack a round in "safe mode"---allowing me to carry confidently with a round in the chamber and the safety on. And it certainly doesn't hurt that the magazines are interchangeable.

But the most important factor of all: they perform flawlessly! After 1000s of rounds, I have had zero malfunctions of any sort; there is very little recoil (increasing slightly as you go from CX4 to SC, as expected); and the accuracy is unparalleled.

The funny thing is, I used to anguish over which gun to carry ... Now I just anguish over which Beretta! Bravo, Beretta, Bravo!!!

Excellent ...but...

Review:

Had a few problems first day due to poor ammo. Since then very few. Great, very accurate and feels good in the hand however, I am about to sell it. The safety/decocker is the most miserable idea they ever had. It is pointed/sharp and is impossible to rack quickly without tearing your fingers. Please Beretta, offer another smoother version. It looks pretty but is bad functionally. Make another and I will stay with you. This is the fourth Beretta I have owned. It may be my last.

PX4 Storm 9mm compact

Review:

I purchased my PX4 in may and shot three rounds. Second round stove piped on me. didn't shoot it again until i got to Florida. Everyother round jammed. I was beside myself. When I got home i drove to CT. to an auth. smith. Long story short it needed a light er recoil spring (which the smith knew right off the bat) 10 days later I got it back and not one problem since. The sites could be a bit more in center line because I have to place the center dot to the right to hit the target spot on. Now that all this is behind me this a great gun...I love the feel, alot of fun to shoot.

Top Notch Firearm

Review:

I recently purchased the PX4 Storm Compact 9mm about a month ago, and I can say that it is a quality firearm. I have shot over 2,000 rounds through it already and not ONE single issue. It is also a VERY accurate gun with low recoil. I have long carried a Glock 19 as my concealed carry weapon, but the PX4 has replaced it as my daily carry gun. Nothing wrong with a Glock, but I prefer the manual safety/decocker on the PX4. You will not be disappointed with the PX4 Compact.

I could not believe how GREAT my new PX4 Compact shoots. Very little recoil on my 9mm. Like shooting a 22 cal. Little or none barrel rise and shot pattern was very tight at 20 yards. And I'm blind in 1 eye. To me this is the perfect gun ...great for range shooting yet can be concealed .Only wish I had discovered the PX4 Compact s

Great firearm from a great company!

Review:

I recently purchased the Beretta Px4 Storm chambered for a .40 S&W. I had already owned the Cx4 Storm for many years and that rifle fires like a charm and I expected nothing less of greatness from the pistol version. I was correct. When I first purchase the Px4 I first did a field strip, which was hassle free I may add, I observed the quality of the parts, the barrel, rod, trigger mechanism, hammer and so on, very high quality, I then got a chance to take it to the range, I was very impressed, I first started at the 20 yrd line, some shots were off but the groupings stayed tight, as expected when firing a new pistol, then as the day progressed, all shots fired were dead center at all distances. This pistol is by far one of the best pistols I own and extremely comfortable to carry on a daily basis. Beretta has always lived up to their quality standards and they continue to keep me a proud owner of their arms.

New Compact

Review:

I already have both the full size and subcompact PX4s. Just added the new Compact model and of the 3 this is now my favorite version. It is as reliable and accurate as the other but it feels the most comfortable in my large hands. Also I find that the felt recoil is less. Perhaps this is due to the addition of the recoil spring cover, I don't know, but whatever tweaks the Beretta engineers made to this new model, it really works. I predict this will become the most popular model in the PX4 series. I hope they introduce a "C" system Compact in the future. In all "Well done Beretta".

Another truly outstanding handgun! This was my second Beretta purchased and my only wish was that it came in a .45. Straight out of the case, and on to the firing range, it was extremely accurate at 30 feet. I had a couple of jams but once it was pointed out to me what I was doing wrong, there have been no jams.
I am very impressed with this weapon. 5 stars Beretta for your superior product!

After the first round of trap I adjusted the shock with the included shim and my scores increased with the next round. Love this shotgun! My Browning Citori is in the safe and will probably stay right there.

Review:

I'd recommend this gun for several reasons...Purchased the Bobcat cambered in 22LR for my wife. I did all the research and found for a woman the tip up barrel was the simplest and safest...she does not have to rack the slide and can easily determine in there is a cartridge in the barrel. The Bobcat prefers round nose high velocity ammo.

My First Beretta With Issues

Review:

The Bobcat is the 5th Beretta handgun in my collection, after a Jaguar, 2 PX4s, and a 92FS. This is the first time I've had an issue. The first day the trigger guard broke when tilting the barrel, obviously a defect, Beretta referred me to Brownell’s for parts, 3 weeks and still back-ordered. The rest of the gun is of high Beretta quality, if it wasn’t for the trigger guard and lack of service I’d give it 5 stars.

Review:

I added this small Beretta to my collection of 96A's, CX4, and U22. This pistol is very accurate and fun to shoot. I have put 550 rounds through it without any issues. The first fifty rounds gave me some problems that were related to the magazine, which Beretta quickly resolved. Most gun manufacturers won't recommend one particular ammunition manufacturer over another; however, if you ask what rounds they used to test fire the gun with; they will tell you. The Model 21 was factory test fired with both CCI mini mag's 40 gr. bullet and Winchester X22LR 40 gr. bullet. My wife loves taking this gun to the range, and it is so easy to clean. I would recommend this firearm to anyone, especially because of the high quality.

My favorite gun

Review:

I've had my Bobcat 20 years and still going strong. Mine seems to shoot anything I want to put in it. After all these years the matte finsh is a little scuffed in places, but there is no rust anywhere. What I like best about this gun is that I don't have to get all trussed up with holsters and mag holders. I just pop it in my pocket. If I'm leaving home for serious shopping or whatever I'm usually packing serious heat. But, If I just want to pop down to the onvenience store for a gallon of milk or whatever, I just pop my lil Beretta in my pocket and forget it's there. Now that I've added Crimson Trace laser grips, I can actually deliberately aim at something instead of just point shooting.

Good pocket carry lightweight

Review:

First of all, let me say that I am very satisfied with this gun. However, my Bobcat Model 21A - .22 LR (Inox model) went back to the factory for repair after its first trip to the range. The main problem was that a little piece of flat spring steel, that was supposed to anchor the end of a coil spring in place, was not tight and it would migrate into the magazine chamber preventing the magazine from being inserted more than about an inch. The other problem was that it would jam quite often. The ejecting shell casing would get caught, by the returning slide, between the slide and the barrel. It acted like the casing just didn’t have time to clear the returning slide. Beretta fixed the problem with the spring and it no longer stops the magazine from entering the magazine chamber. They were very fast and I had the gun back on the eighth day.
The jamming problem turned out to be ammo related. The only ammo my little Bobcat likes is a 38 grain copper-plated round. It does not like plain lead rounds! Occasionally, a lead round will shave a little on entering the chamber and jam. The copper-plated rounds do not do this. The 38 grain round seems to have the proper amount of energy to operate the recoil mechanism, spot on, every time in my gun. You will have to find the right ammo for your gun.
For me, the Federal American Eagle AE22 or the Federal Premium Game Shok #712 works consistently. Also, this little puppy likes to be squeaky clean and oiled, or it will not be your friend. Again, I am very satisfied with this gun. Beretta stands behind what they make, I can attest to that!

I've carried one of these for over 20 years, year round. I agree it's picky on ammo, but CCI Stingers are what it likes and what I carry. It fits in a pocket holster, so I do not have to worry about what I'm wearing to carry in warmer weather. I think it was worth every penny. I would recommend laser grips, though, as the sights are minimal.

I bought myself one of these as a birthday present to myself about a month ago and I have taken it to the range a few times. First time I put about 60 rounds of CCI stingers through it without a hiccup. Next time I did 100 rounds of CCI mini mags. 8/100 FTF. I just took it out again tonight and used the stingers, again without a problem. Gun is picky on ammo but easy to clean and easy to conceal. Its a noisy little cricket and you would never know its just a .22 from hearing it. Great little back up gun if you feed it the right ammo. I'll be keeping it around for a long time.

Finely made and designed

Review:

Fit and finish are excellent. A great design, without the "lawyer" features so common today. Double action, an actual hammer for SA or restrike ability, and a handy magazine release. The safety is seldom needed, but there if it is. The tilt barrel makes loading a snap.
Not having an extractor extends the simplicity, with one less chance for mechanical fault. But also makes it a little finicky about ammo. Still, several brands function well.
Smooth action, and shoots accurately fot its size.
My only complaint is that it, so far, does not come in a totally stainless version.

Hitting The Mark

Review:

Hello All,

I purchased my first rifle as a new resident in Texas, Tikka T3 Lite Stainless LH. I've been learning for the last thirty (30) days and can't believe how fine this weapon is out of the box.

It even had the technical rep's that bored and sighted my rifle excited, passing bullets through the same hole at a 100 yards, asking his associate where did the bullet go?. "That's a fine rifle my friend".

My second time shooting the rifle, true clusters all within 5 inches "wow".
Week (4), well let’s say I'm disappointing if I don't hit the bulls eye at least seven time, out of twenty shots during a practice session, and I'm just learning this skill.

The only issue I have at this time, I’m 6’3” and I need another 2” inches’ added to the length, and having a hard time finding the right tools to make the adjustment. How good can I become with the right fit?

Berretta team member for life.

1st Beretta SemiAuto

Review:

I first saw this gun on display at my sporting clay club, LVSC last year. You might say it was love at first sight. I knew I wanted another semi auto 12ga so I started my research. Every detail pointed me to the A400 Xplor so I purchased one. I love the guns feel and point ability and good looks. It swings easy and is not heavy what-so-ever. It would not be a burden to carry all day in the field. After stripping it down, you can see the Benelli influence the bolt. I never really minded the recoil of a 12ga, but thing has no recoil. This gun is a real shooter. I would have given it 5 stars but my one complaint is the front site and the absent of a mid-bead. I installed a Hiviz mini comp site in front and that did the trick. I plan on taking it into field for some fall pheasant hunting. Beretta has a winner with the A400 Xplor.

This is absolutely my favorite 12 gauge to shoot. Hunting doves , ducks, and geese require various shot sizes and hundreds of shots fired over the course of a season. My Xplor A400 performed like a champ in every situation the past 2 years. However, being a smaller shooter means I have to adjust to the gun because the gun stock cannot be cut down. I cut dowm the stock on my Silver Pigeon S and my Urika 391 but that is not an option with the KO on Xplor. Still love the gun but would be nice if it fit better!

One-Size-Does(NOT)-Fit-All

Review:

Be advised, shotguns with Kickoff leave no room for adjustment of length of pull, and the stock CANNOT be shortened. I bought this for my 19 year old daughter, believing I was purchasing a quality, lightweight, soft shooting shotgun. A Shotgun Instructor later recommended that we shorten the stock one half inch. It was then that Beretta’s Techs confirmed what my local gunsmith had earlier informed me; it was not possible to make the adjustments because of the Kickoff system. Perhaps Beretta could clearly state this shortfall in the product description! I cannot believe Beretta created a recoil reduction system that is useless to the very customers most impacted by recoil; youngsters, women, and people of small stature.

Other than this one flaw, this is a fine looking and shooting shotgun.

1st the color on my gun receiver is not green like the promotional photos (lighter color almost silver/grey) and there is some irregular lighter colored area on one side of the receiver that looks like a quality issue,

2nd Beretta does not offer a stock extension for those of us that need a pull length in excess of 14.75 inches, and

3rd I would have expected five choke tubes instead of the three that are supplied.

Outstanding Upland Bird Gun

Review:

Feels great and is very smooth when shooting 2-3 rapid shots. Would not consider another gun when shooting pheasant. Perfect pheasant gun. Easy to clean and very durable as well. Great flexibility with different size loads.

faultless performance

Review:

I took this shotgun new from the case, lubricated it, and enjoyed 2 days of near 0 degree goose and sandhill crane hunting without one jam or missfire. Like my other Berettas it shoots where it points. My only criticism is that it and my Extrema bruise my middle finger at the rear of the trigger guard. Maybe I grip it too loosely. Thanks Beretta, for another great long gun in my collection.

Perfect Shotgun

Review:

I recently enjoyed an incredible South Dakota PHeasant hunting trip with the new A400 Xplorer Unico and I can't say enough about how much I was impressed. The gun functioned flawlessly. I knew the gun was the best before the trip and it didn't let me down.

Fantastic shotgun!

Review:

This is the fourth Beretta I have purchased; unbelievably accurate shotgun, lightweight, quick, and extremely easy on the shoulder. I shot a couple of boxes of hunting loads as a break-in (recommended in the manual); then hundreds of shells more without a hitch. Beautiful!

This shotgun is a work of art the technology at Beretta is state of the art when it comes to the speed of the action, the finish, recoil reduction, and how light it is.Just like the reviews state you can go from dove loads to 3.5" loads without so much as a hiccup, not to mention it is absolutely beautiful and it it has beautiful REAL wood too!! If you want an amazing shotgun you can't go wrong with the Green Monster!!!

A400 12ga 3.5" w/KO

Review:

Fantastic shotgun! Just what I have been looking for. A light weight field gun that can perform well shooting 2 3/4",3" and 3 1/2" shells. The KO system worked as advertised on my recent two day early season duck/goose hunt. I would recommend two things...give your walnut wood a good coat of stock wax and order an IC choke tube at the time of purchase. The A400 only comes w/F,M and CL tubes. Doves to ducks or clays my A400 is it.

Awesome Gun

Review:

I have owned this gun for almost 2 months now. Take it to the gun club every weekend. Has seen well over 1000 shells and haven't had any problems with it at all. Maintenance and cleaning is quick and easy. Can shoot it all weekend and the shoulder doesn't feel a thing.

Review:

Traded my 391 for the 400. Shot 125 rnds Sun. sporting clays. Have a 686 o/u. May never take it out of the vault again. The 400 is about the sweetest shooting shotgun I have ever owned. Could have shot it all day. A pleasure to clean compared to the 391. Beretta, you done good!!!!

Great Gun

Review:

I bought the combo. I use the 28 gauge for quail and the 20 for doves and pheasant. The gun is well balanced and shoulders well. That combined with Beretta quality is hard to beat. One of my friends has now purchased one after hearing me brag on mine.

686 silver pigeon 1 Combo two thumbs up

Review:

I bought the set for less than MSRP and was not disappointed. I use the 28 gauge most of the time for grouse. It is light and can be carried all day. My hunting buddy is jealous and sez "it should be outlawed". I like a wider rib. This is the only reason for a four star rating.
