North Platte waterfowl jacket

Excellent product obviously designed by a waterfowler. Wore it this am for our season opener. Great windbreaker, no rain encountered. Best part of this jacket is how easy it is to move, mount shotgun, etc. Most of my hunting coats don't move well, I usually shed them once in the blind, unless it's really raining hard. This is a longer coat, more like a parka, not a waist jacket. It is light/medium in weight but is reinforced along arm to the elbow with an extra layer of canvas-like material. Also has some sort of shoulder application which keeps shotgun/gear bag from slipping off your shoulder. Obviously an additional waterproof barrier, also. Fit is as advertised. I bought one size bigger than normal and it has a lot of room for layering. Closure is via zipper but it has Velcro patches instead of buttons to hold it in place if you don't want to zip it up. I like that feature. Another pleasant surprise: the wrists closures work well. Highly recommend this coat.

North Platte

first day of approximately 38 maybe 40 degree weather with north west wind about 10 knots.... i wore a wool sweater( Paul Shark)with full undershirt so i thought i would possibly be overdressed...WRONG!!! i have an old beretta jacket that is by far better than the North Platte one I would definitely have to layer up to be comfortable while semi actively hunting if i were in the same conditions that i just mentioned.

Amazing jacket

Love this jacket! The interior shoulder strap system is great and really allows you to move freely when out and about. It's not super heavyweight so definitely layer up though if it's going to be super cold out while hunting! Tons of features for the price.
