Cut for small frames

If you have any chest or shoulders this coat will restrict your shooting ability. Fits fine with arms down, just can’t lift arms to shoot. If you go up a size there is entirely too much room in the stomach area. Made for a skinny upper body. Be careful if you work out or are blessed with big arms and shoulders, I do and I sent it back.

Tough as nails yet light and functional

I’m really old school in transition, took a chance on this jacket and the coordinating pants as well as the BIS goose jacket hoody. Spent last week in quail hunting in Kansas busting through thorny plumb thickets and all manners of brush, and this outfit performed terrifically. No pricks, and brush just seemed to slide off this material. On a 14 degree, morning layered with light wool leggings and the goose jacket and felt perfect, about noon I’d roll up the goose jacket and put it in the pouch. Yes, we did quite well on the quail with a couple of surprise pheasants.

Thorn Resistant Jacket GTX

The sizing is reasonable; I'm 5' 11" and 215 pounds and an XL jacket fits well in the shoulders and in length. It accommodates layering of garments, such as wearing fleece tops, heavy sweatshirts, and vests. The sleeves are a bit long on me, though (my shirts are 35 1/2" length), and the cuffs are a disappointment. Cuff diameter is ca. 3 1/2" and there are no internal lycra cuffs to close the opening and protect your wrists, as on some Beretta and Orvis jackets. You close the cuffs by way of a velcro strap that is adjustable across the upper surface of the sleeve a solution that's not very comfortable for me. If hunting upland birds, there is a zippered back game bag. It only opens on the right side, though, and it will accommodate one pheasant at best. The zippered front pockets will not hold more than a couple of shotgun shells, so be prepared to wear a shell pouch on a belt at your waist, with the jacket riding up over it, or to wear a shoulder-strapped shell pouch.

Great looking jacket

Very happy with this jacket. Water and wind proof, hoping I don't have to find out if its thorn proof but I trust it if I do! Have gotten a few compliments on it. I would say it runs true to size to even a little smaller than anticipated. I usually wear between medium and large. I ordered a large to make sure I had room for a fleece, it just fits with on one.

Thorn resistand jacket GTX

I was shopping on the Beretta web site during the Black Friday event. I've been looking at this jacket for several weeks and when it went on sale I made the purchase (Orange/Green). At 30% off, I couldn't resist. In fact I also bought an upland hunting shirt. The regular price of $350 is somewhat steep for this jacket, so I'm happy I saved the 30%. Don't get me wrong, this is a first rate, high quality hunting/shooting/everyday jacket. It's just somewhat overpriced from my prospective. I purchased it in XL and the fit is true to size with room for layering. I used it shooting sporting clays yesterday in 30 degree temperatures with high winds, but I had to layer (base layer, Shirt and sweater). I am happy with it, but if I paid $350 I'd probably return it! Believe me, this review was tough for me to write since every other Beretta product I have from guns to shirts, including three other Beretta jackets are more than outstanding. Beretta, lower the price and you will sell many!

Gotta love it but!

Love the jacket. Typical beretta quality! The problem with it is Beretta should have added bellow pockets so you have a place to put shells in, your not going to fit them in the hand warmer. The other issue is the game bag it needs to open up all the way not the little opening in the side of the jacket.Again other than those two items the jacket is fantastic

No shell pockets

Beautiful hunting coat but has no shotgun shell pockets. This coat must have been designed by a Vegetarian. I love this coat but unfortunately it’s not designed for hard hunters.

Human

Have worn this garment for a week now in wet, cold weather. I have no issues with its water or wind repellency. The garnet is large enough to wear fleece under and warm enough in its own rite for warmer days. I love the deep pockets and the game pocket in the back. I don't use it for game but acts like a mini back pack for larger items. I love its robust fabric and appearance. A little too heavy to be packable. Great garmet all around.
