I have a full size and compact PX4. Both came stock with a de-cocker safety that both de-cocks the gun and disconnects the trigger. I carry it with the "safety" off. As a DA/SA pistol the heavy DA provides a safe carry. I am 71 & in the last 5 yrs arthritis has ruined my hands. Racking the slide can only be done because I can push on the de-cocker lever. Still carry same way but draw now includes cocking the pistol and firing single action. I can't fire either pistol DA as it is extremely painful. The decocker is a necessity. I also moved the mag release to the right side about 8 yrs ago since my right thumb is so crooked it can't reach the mag release. So, thinking the long view the de-cocker has many uses, some of which you may need now, some in the future. Not sure on the trigger. Don't need short hammer unless it helps your concealment.
