The Range Master Compact Universal Sight is designed to remove, install and adjust front and rear dovetail sights on semi-automatic handguns. The benefit of the Universal Installation Tool over a gun specific tool is that it accepts shoe clamps that are made specifically for each handgun allowing one tool to do the work on multiple guns. This mechanism will take up less space on a work bench and provides a cost effective way to adjust the sights on different handguns. The larger tool is capable of reaching the front sights on most every model on the market. The Range Master, being more compact, is limited to a .750" reach from the backside of the underlug on slides in terms of front sight location.

Realizing that out of the hundreds of pistol models, a very small percentage have the issue with the long underlug, MGW Armory has developed this tool to appeal to those wanting the same great features as the full size tool in a more cost effective package while giving up only a little bit of capability. Comes with straight pusher block and 30 Degree Pusher Block.

Does not include shoe clamp as they are specific for each pistol.

Works beautifully for many guns, but not the APX

The APX sights are installed in a way that requires the sight pusher to exert its force on the very bottom of the sight where it slides into the channel, not the upper portion as most sight pushers do. I managed to snap the front blade trying to force my front sight on. This makes quick work of sight installation on other handguns, just not the APX.

PX4 Slide

I just finished installing a rear sight on my Beretta PX4 with my new Range Master bought from BerettaUSA. The written instructions that came with the Range Master state that the "stainless tabs should NEVER come in contact with the slide." However the white plastic tabs furnished with the Range Master would not fit between the PX4 slide and the stainless support tabs. Ended up using scraps of leather. Thought Beretta would have tested this before selling it.
