Steel recoil rod for PX4 Storm

I recently purchased a Steel recoil Rod for my Beretta PX4 Strom. I was searching after markets for one and finally Beretta offered it. Yes! Does it make a difference, absolutely. My Stroms shoots straighter and a lot less recoil. I love it. And the price was greatly appreciated. Yes, I recommend anyone to upgrade from the stock plastic recoil Rod to the steel and feel the difference. You are welcome. Enjoy your new gun.

Steel guide rod

I, too, was looking for a steel aftermarket guide Rod and the prices were outrageous. Finally, Berretta offered (what should have been standard equipment) the steel guide rod for its Berretta PX4 Storm 40 cal. The price was incredible and the gun now shoots extremely well. The recoil is much more manageable. Better shot grouping. I love my newer gun. Thank you! Berretta

+P+ Guide Rod is a Nice Upgrade

I am not sure why but my PX4 Storm Fullsize came from the factory with a metallic guide rod. It wasn't the +P +P+ metallic rod so I "had" to upgrade to the best. First thing I noticed was a much beefier spring. The slide was maybe 30% stiffer to rack. When I fired off a few rounds I didn't feel any recoil at all. My EDC is a 45 ultra compact which kicks HARD, so the very first time I shot the Storm I was pleased with the two weapon's recoil difference. After putting in the +P+ rod I didn't need to bear down when shooting. I literally held it very loosely and fired off 5 rounds. The gun stayed in my hand. If I would of tried that with a Ruger SR9C I think that gun would of hit the ground after shot one, and if with the 45 I'd be missing teeth. Every day the Storm is closer to becoming my EDC. It takes about a month before I "know" a gun but with this one it's only been two weeks and It's close to being my EDC.

solid part

fits like a glove, works flawlessly. feels better than the plastic part, seems to slightly lower recoil, (possibly could have been my old part was worn out), tens of thousands rounds over 10 years...

Solid part

Great replacement for the plastic guide rod assembly. I don't know why it doesn't come standard to begin with but oh well. Installed quickly without any trouble.

General info

Just some general info for the 9mm guys. I bought this part by accident and typically shoot standard 115g rounds, non +p. If you think more is better to reduce recoil...sure but this spring is too strong for standard loads. You will get a failure to eject or a "stove pipe" as the slide wants to return to battery faster than a shell can be ejected with standard loads. Stick with the other metal rod and recoil spring just for 9mm and you will be good to go and have one of the lowest recoils (angle of muzzle flip and time to cycle) in the 9mm handgun market for a fraction of the price of special edition guns that demonstrate this level of control.

Metallic guide rod w/ .40 & 9mm +P+ spring

This spring rate works well in the full size 9mm. Feels great using NATO or +P and even with standard pressure rounds I have had zero problems. Full size PX4 9mm 'G' conversion, Low profile safety and slide lock,Comp trigger group, Comp cam block, steel trigger and metallic guide rod w/ +P+ spring.
